Between April 4 and April 8, officers were called to seven fires targeting sheds, temporary shelters and a building in Gatineau, police said in a news release on May 5. The fires occurred on Beaudoin, Charles-Desnoyers, Saint-Denis, Notre-Dame, Saint-Louis and James-Murray streets.

Investigators found a “common modus operandi” that linked the incidents, police said.

Carol Gingras of Gatineau is facing several charges, including arson causing property damage, failure to comply with a probation order and arson causing a danger to human life.
