There’s only one Game 7 in the first round of this year’s NHL playoffs, and it’s between the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday at Benchmark International Arena.
Early puck drop of 6 p.m. (CBC, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM)
The best-of-seven series is tied 3-3.
Here are the keys to the game:
- Defenceman Noah Dobson will play after missing the entire series with an upper-body injury. Arber Xhekaj will sit.
- The series could not be more even. All six games have been decided by a single goal, with four of them going into overtime.
- Goaltending is a big reason why the series has been so close. Rookie Jakub Dobes has risen to the challenge of facing former Conn Smythe Trophy winner Andrei Vasilevskiy.
- It’s not just the fans going through the ringer emotionally. Current players like Mike Matheson and former players like the HIO panel of Chris Nilan, Rick Green and Brian Skrudland shared their own Game 7 experiences.
