FROM Season 4 Episode 6 Ending Explained: Why Did Boyd Break the Walls?

Spoiler Alert !!!

This article contains spoilers from FROM Season 4!

FROM Season 4 Episode 6 was a thoroughly frustrating episode for its characters, not knowing what to believe in light of new information being dropped like a bomb. The biggest one follows the ending of Episode 5, where Jade figures out the location of the boys in white during a mushroom trip.

Seemingly delirious, Boyd does not believe him in this episode. The sheriff is at his wits’ end when his dear friend Donna almost dies. When the tough woman is back from being dead for ten minutes, Boyd is greeted by a vision of Father Khatri that restores enough faith needed to head over to Colony House.

Choosing to believe Jade’s own visions, the sheriff of Fromville smashes into the basement walls, only to see that the tunnel beneath the town was there all along. What comes next is the heist plan to get the bones of the boys in an effort to save everybody. The good folk of the town will once again have to anchor themselves to Boyd.

How Boyd Continues to Give the Town Hope

Sheriff Boyd has remained the one glue the town has desperately needed since the beginning of FROM. He’s the one calling the shots, even when the decisions are life or death. Just like the other residents, he is clueless about the rules, and as sheriff, the laws are what hold a community together.

Picking up the pieces as he finds them, Boyd has single-handedly held the town together while the burden extracts a psychologically deep toll. He is constantly plagued by his own experiences, and Season 4 of FROM has seen him at his most vulnerable during an intimate moment in front of his lover’s grave.

Donna’s death and Boyd’s relentless help in her resuscitation in this episode proved that there exists a glimmer of hope. If she had died permanently, it is quite likely that this would have sent the sheriff into the deep end of dark spirals. Father Khatri’s spiritual arrival came at the most opportune moment, and whether it is real or not, it is a testament to Boyd’s own character.

The man has seen it all, faced it all, and still chooses to help anybody. As the protagonist of the show, he is constantly pushed into morally grey scenarios but comes out with a plan in as rational a manner as possible. Will this be enough when The Man in Yellow rains down unrestrained chaos?

FROM S4E6: Sophia’s Dangerous Mindgames

Sophia, or The Man in Yellow, continues to scheme nefariously. Taking her own sweet time in the face of events unfolding, the “devoted Catholic” gets Henry drunk during a vulnerable phase and shares his grief. The man just found out the savage way that the Man in Yellow ate his wife.

What makes this particularly tragic is her feigned innocence in the matter. To make things worse, she finds out that Henry’s son, Victor, was present during the previous town massacre. With the potential to link her to the horrific event, Victor is now in a dangerous position.

The manchild is already feeling terrible about telling his father how his wife died. In one of the creepiest scenes in the episode, Sophia cuts herself and lets the blood flow into Henry’s drink. This hints at possible forms of control or manipulation in future episodes. One thing’s for sure, Henry is not going to be okay. The seed has been laid psychologically as well, planting an idea that none of this is real.

Sheriff Boyd can’t be everywhere at once, so it looks like this character arc will have to wait until it turns big and ugly to get his attention. Meanwhile, the sheriff will be plotting his next move.
