Forza Horizon 6 Lotus Exige WTAC: How to Unlock & Best Road Racing Tune

9 hours ago 13

If you’re looking for a car that can carry ridiculous speed through corners in Forza Horizon 6, the Lotus Exige WTAC is worth adding to your garage. It doesn’t have the highest top speed in the game, but on most road racing routes (and time attack circuits), the amount of time it gains through bends more than makes up for it.

Better yet, you don’t need to buy a DLC pack or spend credits in the Autoshow to get one. Here’s how to unlock the car and the tuning setup we’ve had the most success with.

How to Get the Lotus Exige WTAC in Forza Horizon 6

The Lotus Scura Motorsports Exige WTAC is unlocked through the Road Racing section of the Collection Journal. To add it to your garage, you’ll need to win (come first in) every Road Racing event in the game and earn all 9,360 Horizon Festival Points available from that page. That said, the actual process is a fair bit longer than you might think because Road Racing progression is tied directly to your Wristband level.

As we’ve covered in our Wristband progression guide, Horizon Festival Points are used to upgrade your Wristband, which in turn unlocks additional events across the map. Some Road Racing events are locked behind specific Wristband tiers, so you won’t be able to clear the entire category from the start.

That means you’ll need to spend some time completing other activities around Japan as well. Street Racing, Apex Predators, Drift Zones, Speed Traps, and other Festival categories all contribute Horizon Festival Points toward your next Wristband upgrade. Once you reach the required tier, more Road Racing events become available, and you can continue working toward the Exige WTAC.

Thankfully, there is at least no randomness involved with unlocking this grip beast of a car. No Wheelspins, no Festival Playlist rotation, and no waiting for a seasonal reward to come back around. Every step is completely within your control.

The Exige WTAC, as the name suggests, was built for Time Attack circuits, but its strengths translate remarkably well to road racing too. A lot of that comes down to its grip. The car carries speed through corners effortlessly, which is just as valuable over a 50-mile+ Goliath run as it is on a dedicated Time Attack course.

The even better news is that the Lotus doesn’t need much work. Its handling is already excellent straight from the factory. So, rather than trying to reinvent the car, the goal is simply to improve stability, make it feel a little more composed at higher speeds, and claw back some extra top speed without compromising what it already does well.

We’ve already covered the finer details in our comprehensive Forza Horizon 6 tuning guide, but if you’d rather skip the trial-and-error process, there’s a community setup that we’ve found works particularly well for road racing.

The setup stays true to the Exige WTAC’s strengths while making it a bit more versatile across the wider range of road racing events you’ll find throughout Japan. Have you unlocked the car yet, and if so, are you running a different tune? Let us know in the comments below!
