Speed has long been one of the most frightening abilities in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto series. While raw power often shaped battles in Naruto, speed usually decided who landed the first hit. With teleportation and godly reflexes, Naruto has never failed to impress us when it comes to speed.
While some fighters relied purely on physical movement, others combined space-time ninjutsu with unbelievable reflexes. Here is a list of the top 10 fastest Naruto characters.
10 Shisui Uchiha Mastered Speed Beyond Normal Perception
Shisui Uchiha earned the nickname “Shisui of the Body Flicker” long before the Fourth Great Ninja War. Even elite shinobi struggled to properly track Shisui’s movements because of his mastery over the Body Flicker Technique.

Danzo himself considered Shisui a major threat, which is why he specifically targeted his eyes before the Uchiha coup escalated. While we never got to see the true potential of Shisui in a prolonged battle, Kishimoto clearly portrayed Shisui as one of Konoha’s greatest speed specialists.
9 Fourth Raikage Became the Fastest Kage Alive
The Fourth Raikage was depicted as the ultimate embodiment of speed through sheer force. In chapter 463, during the Five Kage Summit arc, his Lightning Release Chakra Mode enabled him to move at speeds that even Sasuke’s Sharingan struggled to track.

His clash with Minato Namikaze during the Third Great Ninja War earned him a reputation because the Yellow Flash was the only one who could consistently outspeed him.
8 Tobirama Senju Created Konoha’s Deadliest Speed Technique
Tobirama Senju is not often mentioned when it comes to speed, simply because other characters overshadowed him visually. Nevertheless, Tobirama created the technique of Flying Raijin himself, which already made him one of the fastest shinobi in history. His reaction speed during the Fourth Great Ninja War was so sharp that even Madara was caught off guard in Chapter 641.

Tobirama often used Flying Raijin in a more tactical and ruthless manner than Minato. In fact, even Minato praised his amazing intuition during the war. Kishimoto depicted him as one of the cleverest and fastest shinobi of Konoha throughout the series.
7 Obito Uchiha Combined Kamui With Godlike Reflexes
There were countless instances throughout the Fourth Shinobi World War saga where characters had a hard time hitting him due to his speed being perfectly synchronized with his space-time powers. This can be seen in Naruto Chapter 598, where he dodged simultaneous attacks from Naruto, Kakashi, Guy, and Killer Bee.

He could phase through attacks at the exact moment they were about to land. According to Minato, Obito was an extremely powerful opponent despite his young age at the time.
6 Might Guy Bent Space With Pure Physical Speed
Guy achieved one of the craziest speed feats in anime after opening the Eighth Gate. In Naruto Chapter 672, Guy was so quick during his battle with Six Paths Madara that the force of his movement visibly distorted space itself.

Madara himself even admitted that Guy was the greatest taijutsu fighter he had ever faced. Night Guy is considered one of the most impressive moves in Naruto because it represented the absolute limit of human physical speed within the series.
5 Madara Uchiha Overwhelmed Entire Armies Effortlessly
The speed of Madara Uchiha became practically unfair after he acquired the Six Paths powers. Even before becoming the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, Madara was able to fight entire divisions of shinobi simultaneously during the Fourth Great Ninja War, being too fast for most shinobi to even react. The helpless situation of the Allied Shinobi Forces was clearly portrayed in Chapter 560 of Naruto.

He was able to counter Sage Mode Naruto, adapt to users of Flying Raijin, and overwhelm opponents through sheer reaction speed. Kishimoto deliberately portrayed Madara as a shinobi operating beyond normal battlefield logic, and his movement speed played a huge role in establishing that dominance.
4 Minato Namikaze Earned the Legendary Yellow Flash Title
Very few characters in Naruto built an entire global reputation purely through speed, but Minato Namikaze did exactly that. During the Third Great Ninja War, enemy nations reportedly issued flee-on-sight orders whenever Minato appeared on the battlefield. Naruto Chapter 502 further highlighted why he became feared across the shinobi world.

In particular, the battle between him and Obito during the time of the Nine-Tails attack is perhaps one of the best showcases of reaction speed in the entire series.
3 Kaguya Otsutsuki Moved Faster Than Anyone Could React
Kaguya Otsutsuki completely changed the scale of combat in Naruto once she appeared. Her actions were extremely difficult to keep up with due to the fact that she used her enormous chakra along with instant dimensional shifting. During Naruto Chapter 679, Team 7 found it challenging to respond to her moves, even with their own Six Paths abilities.

Even Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto themselves managed to survive mainly due to cooperation, not pure speed advantages. Kishimoto clearly intended Kaguya to feel like an unstoppable divine being.
2 Sasuke Uchiha Turned Teleportation Into a Combat Weapon
Adult Sasuke became one of the deadliest speed fighters in Naruto because of Amenotejikara. Unlike standard teleportation abilities, Sasuke used his space-switching technique offensively during combat with incredible precision. In Naruto Chapter 674 and later throughout Boruto, he constantly disoriented enemies by changing positions instantly.

1 Naruto Uzumaki Surpassed Every Shinobi in Speed
Naruto Uzumaki ultimately became the fastest shinobi in the franchise once he fully mastered Six Paths Sage Mode and Kurama’s chakra. During Naruto Chapter 673, he reacted to Madara’s attacks faster than almost anyone else on the battlefield.
Naruto’s greatest advantage was how he merged movement speed, reflexes, sensory abilities, and battle instincts into one complete combat system. His growth throughout the series ultimately allowed him to surpass every shinobi before him in terms of overall combat speed.
Here is a quick overview of the ranking we have discussed above –
