FromSoftware has one of the most active gaming communities in the whole industry, and it is buzzing after a new leak has surfaced recently claiming that the studio behind Elden Ring and Bloodborne is now secretly developing a new single-player action RPG titled “Cerulean Onslaught“.
The rumor stems from a post made on 4chan, the platform notoriously known for leaking some of the studio’s titles before they were even announced (including Bloodborne just a few months before its official reveal in 2014), before it spread like wildfire to Reddit and even X. However, in the true barebones reality, the studio has yet to officially announce such a project in the pipeline.
The Cerulean Onslaught Leak: What Is FromSoftware Allegedly Cooking

According to the post, FromSoftware’s next unannounced single-player title is called Cerulean Onslaught, described as a dark action RPG set on a vast ocean world. The premise? Players would sail between islands aboard a ship that doubles as a home base, exploring what is likely yet another open-world environment in the studio’s signature Souls style.
The leak also connected the project to an internal codename, “FMC“, which was reported on back in 2025 as one of the studio’s next multiplatform games, giving the rumor a thin thread of credibility.
And while any official comment remains absent from the studio, the leaker made a few more bold claims, including how the game will be self-published by FromSoftware, and will be officially revealed at the Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026, and could launch as early as August 2026, before The Duskbloods, its confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive scheduled for later this year.

However, it’s worth mentioning once again that anonymous 4chan posts are unreliable, and for every legitimate industry leak that has ever passed through the forum, there are dozens that have turned out to be fabrications. The very title, “Cerulean Onslaught,” has been a red flag for many fans, meaning it’s better to take this claim as lightly as you can.
What We Actually Know About FromSoftware’s Real 2026 Pipeline
For now, The Duskbloods is the only new game coming out in 2026 | Credit: FromSoftwareNew game or not, what we know is that the studio is not sitting idle, as it is currently managing updates for Elden Ring: Nightreign, and at the same time is preparing The Duskbloods for its exclusive launch on Switch 2, along with an Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to be released on the same platform.
So, new AAA title or not, it already has a lot on its plate to give out to fans, with The Duskbloods being the studio’s most high-profile upcoming release. It features eight-player PvP and PvE matches in a dark vampire-inspired world, and is expected to be released in the last quarter of 2026, with no confirmed release date so far.
While there is always a chance that FromSoftware has a new project in development beyond what they are already working on, it is better to remain skeptical at the time. The Summer Game Fest is not that far away, meaning even if it’s real, fans won’t have to wait long before there is a grand reveal of such a project, if it exists.
