Taylor Sheridan is pretty much TV’s modern-day cowboy, the guy who turned gritty storytelling and wide-open Western landscapes into a full-blown cinematic universe. From Yellowstone to 1883 and Tulsa King, his shows have become the backbone of Paramount’s empire.
Sheridan’s long-standing partnership with Paramount began with a massive multi-year deal that let him build his storytelling playground across Paramount+, Paramount Network, and MTV Entertainment Studios. Basically, if it’s got horses, gunfights, and morally complex outlaws, there’s a good chance Sheridan’s name is on it.
But while all his upcoming projects still fall under Paramount’s umbrella, the clock’s ticking on that era. Sheridan’s current deal runs through 2028, after which he’s saddling up for a new venture with NBCUniversal (via Deadline).
Starting from 2029, he’ll be creating film and TV projects for Universal and Peacock, opening a whole new frontier for his signature brand of storytelling. So, before that next big chapter kicks in, let’s take a look at every upcoming Taylor Sheridan project that’s set to dominate screens soon.
1 Mayor of Kingstown Season 4
Mayor of Kingstown has become one of Taylor Sheridan’s grittiest and most unflinching shows, a raw dive into corruption, power, and survival in a town where prison is the only booming business. First hitting Paramount+ in 2021, the crime-thriller series was co-created by Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, centering on the McLusky family, who act as power brokers between inmates, gangs, cops, and politicians in the fictional Kingstown, Michigan.

Jeremy Renner leads as Mike McLusky, the town’s unofficial “mayor” and fixer, alongside an ensemble that includes Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster.
Now, as Mayor of Kingstown has released its highly anticipated Season 4, the tension in Kingstown is about to hit nuclear levels. Jeremy Renner returns front and center, marking a powerful comeback after his near-fatal accident, and this time, he’s facing off against some serious new players.
Edie Falco joins the cast as Warden Nina Hobbs, Lennie James also enters the chaos as Frank Moses, and Laura Benanti rounds out the new additions as Cindy Stephens. Season 4 picks up right after the collapse of the Russian mafia’s hold on Kingstown, leaving behind a dangerous power vacuum. Rival gangs, corrupt officials, and new players are all fighting to claim their piece of the pie, and Mike McLusky is running out of allies fast.
The new season premiered on October 26, 2025, on Paramount+, with the first two episodes on the same day and weekly releases to follow.
2 Landman Season 2
Landman is one of Taylor Sheridan’s freshest and most timely dramas, a gritty, high-stakes look at America’s modern gold rush: the oil boom of West Texas. The show first hit Paramount+ in November 2024, created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and is inspired by the hit podcast Boomtown.

Set in the heart of the oil fields, it follows the lives of roughnecks, corporate sharks, and landmen, the dealmakers who trade land rights and drilling opportunities for millions. At the center of it all is Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a seasoned oilman navigating power, politics, and morality in a world where everyone’s digging for something.
As Landman heads into Season 2, the stakes are about to skyrocket. Thornton is back as Tommy, joined by returning stars Ali Larter, Demi Moore, and Andy Garcia, while Jon Hamm’s Monty Miller’s fate remains uncertain after his downfall in Season 1. The new season also brings in some heavyweight names. Sam Elliott joins as a series regular, while Stefania Spampinato steps in as Galino’s wife.
Plot-wise, Season 2 picks up with Tommy stepping deeper into the belly of the beast, moving from a ground-level landman to a power player inside the oil company. But with greater power comes bigger enemies. The cartel connection, hinted at in the first season, is set to explode into full-blown chaos, while Tommy’s moral compass faces its ultimate test.
Season 2 officially premieres on November 16, 2025, with production having kicked off in April earlier this year. Like its predecessor, the new season will stream exclusively on Paramount+, dropping new episodes weekly after the two-part premiere.
3 Y: Marshals
Y: Marshals is shaping up to be the next big chapter in Taylor Sheridan’s ever-expanding TV empire, and this one’s taking the Yellowstone universe straight into law enforcement territory. The show, created by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, and Spencer Hudnut, is a neo-western drama that blends frontier vibes with a modern procedural twist.
Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton | Credit: Paramount+It’s officially the first Sheridan project landing on CBS, bringing the Dutton legacy to network television. The story follows Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) as he swaps ranch life for a badge, joining an elite team of U.S. Marshals operating across the rugged landscapes of Montana. It’s the same wild west backdrop we love, just with a new kind of justice being served.
The cast lineup is stacked. Alongside Grimes, Y: Marshals features returning Yellowstone fan favorites Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, Mo Brings Plenty, and Brecken Merrill as Kayce’s son, Tate. They’re joined by new faces like Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, and Logan Marshall-Green. The series is directed and showrun by Spencer Hudnut, with Sheridan steering the creative vision as executive producer.
Plot-wise, the show picks up with Kayce walking away from his family’s ranching empire and diving headfirst into the world of U.S. Marshals. He’s still the same man torn between his past and his duty, but now, he’s enforcing justice across a land that’s just as untamed as it’s always been. From small-town crimes to full-blown frontier warfare, Y: Marshals promises to explore the psychological cost of upholding the law in a place where everyone bends it to survive.
As for when we’ll see it, Y: Marshals is set to premiere in Spring 2026 on CBS, with production already underway. The network has ordered a 13-episode first season, airing Sunday nights at 9 PM ET, a prime slot that signals CBS is betting big on Sheridan’s storytelling magic.
4 The Madison
The Madison might just be Taylor Sheridan’s most emotional project yet, and it’s a refreshing shift from his usual brand of guns and ranch rivalries. This time, he’s slowing things down with a story that’s more about heart than horsepower. The upcoming Paramount+ series is a modern, moody neo-western that follows a family from New York City who trade skyscrapers for wide-open skies in Montana’s stunning Madison River Valley.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars in The Family | Credit: Front and center is the legendary Michelle Pfeiffer, playing Stacy Clyburn, a woman doing everything she can to keep her family together after tragedy completely upends their lives. Pfeiffer isn’t just starring; she’s also executive producing.
Pfeiffer is joined by a strong supporting lineup featuring Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Ben Schnetzer, and Kevin Zegers. Sheridan’s frequent collaborator, Christina Alexandra Voros (of Yellowstone and 1883 fame), is directing.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, The Madison is currently in post-production and expected to hit Paramount+ in 2026.
5 1944
Taylor Sheridan is expanding the Yellowstone universe yet again, and this time, he’s taking us straight into the heart of World War II. The upcoming series 1944 is officially the next prequel after 1923, promising to bridge the gap between the older Dutton generations and the modern-day chaos we’ve come to know from Yellowstone.
Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton | Credit: Paramount+It’s set during one of the most turbulent times in American history, when the entire country was reshaped by the war effort, and that includes life on the ranch.
While casting details are still under wraps, fans are buzzing with theories. There’s talk that some familiar faces from 1923, like Brandon Sklenar’s Spencer Dutton and Julia Schlaepfer’s Alexandra, could return, possibly alongside a young John Dutton II.
With Sheridan’s knack for continuity and world-building, 1944 might just serve as the emotional and historical glue connecting the Dutton timeline. And given how 1883 and 1923 set the bar sky-high, expectations for this next chapter are through the roof. As for when we’ll actually get to see it, the show hasn’t started filming yet, so don’t expect it before 2026.
6 F.A.S.T.
Taylor Sheridan is stepping away from his Western roots and diving headfirst into pure, high-octane action with F.A.S.T., his upcoming Warner Bros. thriller. Known for crafting morally complex stories about power and survival, Sheridan is now swapping ranches and revolvers for government ops and global conspiracies, and honestly, it sounds epic.
Brandon Sklenar as Spencer Dutton | Credit: Paramount+The film stars 1923’s breakout Brandon Sklenar as a former U.S. Special Forces officer pulled back into the fray when he’s recruited by the DEA to lead a covert team on a dangerous mission. Their target? A network of drug dealers protected by none other than the CIA. That’s right, F.A.S.T. isn’t just about bullets and bravado; it’s diving deep into the corruption, politics, and impossible choices that come when the “good guys” start blurring moral lines.
Joining Sklenar is a powerhouse cast, including Juliana Canfield, LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin, and Trevante Rhodes, so expect a mix of emotional grit and powerhouse performances. Sheridan’s knack for tension and layered storytelling means we’ll probably get more than your standard action flick; think explosive set pieces balanced with complex, human stakes.
F.A.S.T. is set to hit theaters on April 23, 2027. So, buckle up, Sheridan’s taking his storytelling into overdrive.
7 Dutton Ranch
Taylor Sheridan is keeping the Yellowstone fire burning with his brand-new spinoff, The Dutton Ranch, and this one’s shaping up to be pure fan wish-fulfillment. Yep, Beth and Rip are back, and this time, they’re taking center stage.
Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler | Credit: Paramount+The new series picks up right after the events of Yellowstone’s explosive finale, following the couple as they try to start fresh while holding on to their unshakable love. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return to their iconic roles, bringing that same fiery chemistry that made them the heart of the original show.
Rounding out the cast is Finn Little, reprising his role as Carter, now older, wiser, and learning how to survive the Dutton way. And in a major power move, Annette Bening joins the ensemble as Beulah Jackson, a neighboring ranch owner.
While The Dutton Ranch was originally slated for a 2025 premiere, the series has now been pushed to 2026, with filming kicking off in late 2025. But honestly, it sounds worth the wait. Expect stunning Montana landscapes, emotional gut punches, and, of course, Beth Dutton’s one-liners that could cut steel.
8 6666
Taylor Sheridan isn’t done expanding his Yellowstone empire just yet, and 6666 might just be his grittiest project in the pipeline. Set on the legendary Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, the upcoming series swaps Montana’s mountains for the scorching plains of West Texas, promising a deep dive into cowboy country like never before.
Jefferson White’s Jimmy Hurdstrom in Yellowstone | Credit: Paramount+The show takes place in the present day but pays tribute to the ranch’s 200-year-old history, a place where the old ways still rule and survival depends on grit, skill, and loyalty. Sheridan, who actually owns the real-life 6666 Ranch, knows this world inside and out, and it’s safe to say this one’s going to feel authentic down to the dirt and dust.
While the full cast list hasn’t been confirmed yet, Yellowstone fans are buzzing that Jefferson White’s Jimmy Hurdstrom will take center stage. His character has already relocated to the ranch in Yellowstone, setting up a perfect transition for this spinoff.
Kathryn Kelly, who plays his partner Emily, is also rumored to return, meaning the cowboy couple could be leading this new frontier story together. Expect new faces too, as the ranch introduces fresh characters built on the same tough-as-nails foundation Sheridan’s shows are known for.
As for when 6666 hits screens? That’s still a mystery. It’s been in development since 2021, but between strikes and Sheridan’s packed schedule, it’s been slow to materialize. Still, fans are holding out hope for a 2026 premiere.
9 Empire of the Summer Moon
Taylor Sheridan is taking his storytelling to a whole new frontier with Empire of the Summer Moon, an adaptation of S.C. Gwynne’s bestselling book that chronicles the rise and fall of the Comanche Nation and the life of their last great chief, Quanah Parker.
Taylor Sheridan in Yellowstone | Credit: Paramount+Known for his raw, cinematic Westerns that dig into the soul of America’s past, Sheridan seems like the perfect fit to bring this sweeping, emotionally charged story to the screen. While it’s still unclear whether it’ll be a feature film or a limited series, one thing’s certain: this project has “Sheridan masterpiece” written all over it.
Empire of the Summer Moon tells the real-life story of how the Comanches became one of the most powerful forces in the American West and how their fight for survival against white settlers reshaped the frontier forever. At the center of it all is Quanah Parker, a legendary warrior and leader who straddled two worlds.
Born to a Comanche chief and a white mother captured in a raid, he embodied both cultures as the world around him changed forever. It’s an epic tale of resilience, tragedy, and transformation, the kind of morally complex, deeply human story Sheridan excels at.
There’s no confirmed cast yet, but Sheridan will write, direct, and produce the project himself under his Bosque Ranch Productions banner. Considering his packed schedule with Yellowstone spinoffs and Paramount deals, Empire of the Summer Moon is still in early development, but if his track record is any clue, this will be more than just another Western. It’ll be a haunting, beautiful look at power, identity, and the cost of survival on the edge of history.
