The upcoming most anticipated project of the Dragon Ball universe, Dragon Ball DAIMA, has recently dropped a new trailer, and it is getting a lot of love from fans. While this trailer has re-ignited the eagerness of the fans for Dragon Ball DAIMA, it has also included multiple references that the series has made from the original narrative that was created by Akira Toriyama years ago. One of these references is the Demon Realm, which has been part of the series since it was first created.

Demon Realm was an interesting concept for a long time, but as the story progressed, it lost its importance, and fans eventually forgot about it. However, with Dragon Ball DAIMA hinting at the Demon Realm, there is a chance that these old concepts from the series could make a return to the franchise.

The Demon Realm in Dragon Ball Explained

The Demon Realm is a dark and shadowy world that is located on the reverse side of the universe. It is the lower half of the living world, not to be confused with hell. The realm is filled with magic, and it was created by the wizards that were trapped inside it, and it harbors almost all of the demon race of the Dragon Ball world.

It was first introduced during the Fortuneteller Baba Saga, with Shula being the main antagonist of the narrative. The Demon Realm has also given rise to many other villains of the Dragon Ball universe, including Dabura, Janemba, Fu, Demigra, etc. Thus, it was an extremely crucial element of the Dragon Ball universe for the longest time.

However, as the narrative broadened with the inclusion of other universes and their antagonists, the Demon Realm lost its importance in the story. While it is still mentioned here and there in video games and fan fiction, the main narrative doesn’t really focus much on the evil concept.

The Return of Demon Realm in Dragon Ball DAIMA

Although the central story of Dragon Ball DAIMA is still unclear, the mention of the Demon Realm or the Makai Realm in the latest Dragon Ball DAIMA trailer has given rise to the hopes of fans.

This shot from the trailer is basically the bottom of Universe 7, upside down. That is where the Makai Realm is aka the Demon Realm.

It was one of Akira Toriyama’s original concepts, and witnessing it in his last project will certainly be an emotional moment for fans.

However, the trailer has also dropped a lot of hints about other aspects of the Dragon Ball DAIMA series. Besides the Demon Realm, the other thing that the fans are more excited about is Goku turning Super Saiyan even in the kid form. This makes the story even more intriguing.

Also, the revelation of new characters who have never been seen before in the series also adds to the anticipation of the series. But fans will have to wait till October to find out what Dragon Ball DAIMA is really about and how all these intriguing elements play into the story.
