What fans of this silly parody movie will want to know is whether the movie has a post-credits scene. Modern cinema’s love for giving us bonus scenes is both a blessing and a curse.

While these scenes generally appear in franchise movies to set up a sequel or future of the franchise, Scary Movie is nothing like your usual movie series. It couldn’t care less about continuity, much less about franchise building. However, fans did expect some fun bonus scenes, which probably didn’t fit in the larger context of the movie. And yes, Scary Movie 6 does have multiple credits scenes.

How Many Credits Scenes Does Scary Movie 6 Have?

While the previous Scary Movie films didn’t have credits scenes, the latest movie has caught up to this trend. The movie has two mid-credits scenes, but no post-credits scenes. Both these scenes have nothing to do with a sequel movie. Both of them are fun gags that couldn’t be naturally included during the movie.

The first mid-credits scene is a trailer for the fictional parody movie, Brosferatu. As the name gives it away, it mocks Robert Eggers’ 2024 horror movie, Nosferatu, starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, and Lily-Rose Depp. The second one is also a dig at another recent horror flick. It parodies a scene from the critically acclaimed 2024 horror movie, Longlegs, starring Nicolas Cage.

It perfectly aligns with the movie’s overall theme of parodying popular recent horror movies. The characters from the original movies reunite when the same masked killer from the first movie returns after 26 years. Just like its prequels, Scary Movie parodies the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer franchises. It also makes fun of recent hit horror thrillers like Get Out, Nope, Heretic, Sinners, M3GAN, Weapons, and Backrooms.

Scary Movie 6 Reception Is Not Likely to Affect Its Box Office

Scary Movie has opened to negative reviews, scoring a rotten 31% on Rotten Tomatoes and 35 on Metacritic. The movies in this franchise have always received such low scores from critics, who express their issues with the offensive and dated jokes in them. The new movie is no different, as Marlon and Shawn Wayans return with the same old crass humor.

However, the negative reception is not likely to affect the box office of the movie, as it is expected to open at $40 million during the weekend. It is a great start for an R-rated horror comedy in theaters. Reports even suggest that the movie might actually beat its competition, Masters of the Universe, despite the latter’s solid reviews.

The Wayans brothers earlier promised humor that leaned towards anti-woke. The franchise is known for pushing it too far with its comedy. The movie can expect to get into some controversy over its offensive content. People have clear expectations out of this movie, so the controversial humor is not likely to affect its box office.
