At about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, police were told there had been a single-vehicle crash involving a dirt bike on a snowmobile trail. Renfrew County Paramedic Services and Upper Ottawa Valley OPP officers went to the scene, where it was determined that the dirt bike had struck a tree.

Life-saving attempts were made by first responders and bystanders, but the man who had been riding the dirt bike was declared dead at the scene.
