Sky Germany understands that Deniz Undav is set to become the new captain of VfB Stuttgart for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Atakan Karazor is stepping down from the role but will still remain an important leadership figure in the locker room.

Undav already led the team onto the field as skipper in their 4-0 first round win over DFB-Pokal opponents Hansa Rostock.

Karazor wants to continue establishing himself at VfB and reportedly turned down offers from Turkey for that reason.

Last month, Undav spoke highly of Karazor, stating "even if I become captain, Ata will remain my captain.”
