The Portuguese athlete’s platform recently made history as one of the fastest-rising YouTube accounts on the Internet. In just one month, he managed to beat Swift’s figures in terms of follower count.

Cristiano Ronaldo Commences His YouTube Journey

Cristiano Ronaldo has been popular for years because of his work on the field of football. He serves as a forward and captain for both the Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and the Portugal national team. He is also dubbed as one of the greatest players of his generation as evident in his five Ballon d’Or awards.

With all the milestones in his career, the footballer added one more feat as he launched his YouTube channel. After uploading his first video on August 21st, he immediately earned over a million subscribers in just an hour and a half.

The next day, the account surpassed about 30 million subs. At the time of this writing, he has 60.2 million followers now watching his videos and supporting his channel. It’s not difficult to see how he raked in a massive number of fans on his platform at such a great speed. He’s already an influential figure, and he has millions of followers on his other social media platforms.

The professional athlete wants to use his channel to discuss his passion for football as well as connect with fans. As per Variety, Ronaldo also plans to share more videos about “other interests, including family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.”

He admitted that the plan has been on his mind for quite some time now, but he only got around to making it happen just last month. Regardless, this huge leap of action instantly paid off as he has now become one of the most followed figures on the platform, even surpassing the global music icon, Taylor Swift.

Swift’s YouTube channel has been around since 2006 based on the account’s details, but everyone knows she has been making songs and music videos since her very first album’s release in the same year.

After almost a dozen studio albums, countless tours and concerts, and various content posted on her page, she’s a bit short of a few thousand compared to Ronaldo’s followers count. America’s pop star currently has 59.9 million supporters on YouTube as of this writing.

As Ronaldo’s channel is still relatively new and he has been consistently posting new content, it is not a surprise that it would grow even more at a tremendous velocity in a matter of few months.
