Cops and other first responders saluted the vehicles escorting the body of the late Emergency Task Force officer as they made the trip to deliver Pinizzotto’s body to the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill ahead of a service that is expected to take place on Thursday, according to the Toronto Sun’s Joe Warmington.

Police have yet to release details of the funeral, but are expected to do so in the coming days.

Pinizzotto’s death came on the same week that OPP Const. Tarun Bali, a Brampton native who was stationed in northern Ontario, was struck and killed during an attempted traffic stop in Hearst, Ont.

A few weeks earlier, OPP Sgt. Brandon Malcolm was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Cobourg.

‘Stand together in solemn respect’

“Today, we stand together in solemn respect and support of the Pinizzotto family and all our colleagues at the Toronto Police service,” an OPP officer said as they hosted a livestream of the procession on social media.

“Unfortunately, we understand all too well what our colleagues at Toronto Police service are going through.”

Pinizzotto, 43, died Thursday following an early morning incident at an apartment building in the Black Creek-Trethewey Drs. area of North York, where officers were executing a search warrant in connection with shootings that targeted the U.S. Consulate and local synagogues.
