CinemaCon 2026: Every Confirmed Warner Bros. Announcement

Warner Bros.’ studio presentation at CinemaCon 2026 featured updates and announcements on some of the most anticipated releases over the next couple of years. From DC’s Supergirl to the upcoming Game of Thrones movie, the executives at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas were treated to new stills, footage, release dates, and other details.

WB’s slate is packed for 2027 and beyond, even with the Paramount sale in the near future. The new movies are exciting, with the studio bringing back many fan-favorite characters for sequels. Here’s every movie announcement made at CinemaCon during the Warner Bros. presentation.

1 Supergirl

Milly Alcock‘s Supergirl has already locked a release date on June 26, 2026. Director Craig Gillespie appeared at the Las Vegas stage alongside Alcock and Jason Momoa (who wore the Lobo costume) to introduce new footage and talk about the highly anticipated movie.

The exclusive footage at the event showed Kara on an alien planet, where she is seen boarding a public transportation ship. Wearing a pair of goggles, she isn’t happy to be surrounded by smoking aliens. Amidst the chaos, she notices Eve Ridley’s Ruthye, who seems to be in trouble with an alien.

At this time, tech pirates board the ship and rob Kara’s orb and Ruthye’s sword. Kara fights them and uses their teleporters to move through the ship. She then tries to leave the ship in a spacesuit to reach the yellow sun to gain powers. But she is thrown out of the ship with no helmet. When the yellow sun finally rises, it gives her strength, and she flies back to the ship to fight the pirates.

The clip then cuts to a montage, including a scene where Kara is seen escaping Krypton with Krypto. The audience also got to see appearances from Momoa’s Lobo, who is seen fighting with Kara, and David Corenswet’s Superman, whom Kara describes as a “fricking nerd.”

The clip shows that Alcock is phenomenal in the role, and the movie is impressive with its action sequences. It stands out as an ambitious project within James Gunn’s DCU, and the footage hints at a potentially massive payoff.

Gillespie shared that the characters in the movie will visit six different planets, with Alcock learning five different alien languages. Alcock also confirmed that Krypto was entirely CGI in the movie. The material of the movie is largely adapted from Tom King’s Woman of Tomorrow, with many of the footage scenes taken directly from the comics.

2 Clayface

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran was on stage to introduce new footage from Clayface. A “riveting horror-thriller”, according to Safran, the movie explores the origin story of the Batman villain. The footage shows a man covered in face bandages on a hospital bed.

It is implied that this man, Matt Hagan, had a horrible accident before the footage cuts to some experiments being conducted on the man. As the camera zooms into Matt’s face, the footage cuts to flashes of his life in Gotham. We also learn about the movie’s tagline, “Look fear in the face.”

In the final portion of the footage, Matt lies in a bathtub and wipes his face. His face turns into clay, removing his features. The footage then cuts to the Clayface title card. It was announced that the movie will be a Halloween release, coming to theaters on October 23, 2026.

The footage gave us no clue about the film’s plot, but indicated that the tone will be very different from your usual DC superhero movies. The involvement of Speak No Evil director James Watkins at the helm means that this will be a horror story rather than a supervillain origin story.

3 Superman: Man of Tomorrow

Peter Safran also shared an update on the sequel to James Gunn’s Superman. The sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, is set to be released on July 9, 2027. Safran revealed that the filming will kick off next week. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult will return as Superman and Lex Luthor.

They appear alongside Gunn during a sizzle reel later, where they shared that there will be “a new villain” and “an unlikely alliance” in this sequel. According to a recent report from THR, Adria Arjona is playing a role in the movie.

4 The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum

At CinemaCon, the audience got to see a quick look at Gollum in the new Lord of the Rings movie, titled The Hunt for Gollum. Earlier, it was confirmed that Andy Serkis will return as Gollum / Sméagol and Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

However, the most surprising update was that Jamie Dornan was announced as Strider / Aragorn in the movie, replacing Viggo Mortensen from the original trilogy. Elijah Wood is returning as Frodo Baggins, and the film has added Kate Winslet as Marigol, Leo Woodall as Halvard, and Lee Pace as Thranduil. Watch the casting announcement video here:

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ Cast Announced

The Hunt for Gollum is set to be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.

5 Mortal Kombat II

Mortal Kombat II, the sequel to the 2021 reboot, is set to be released on May 8, 2026. The new film will feature Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, alongside returning cast members Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, and Lewis Tan.

A clip from the movie was played at Caesar’s Palace, showing Cage and Liu Kang confronting Baraka. Liu Kang challenges Baraka to a single combat, which the latter declines. Cage teases him and even goes on to call him a “giant f**king pu**y.” Baraka then challenges Cage to a fight.

Urban’s character has no real fighting experience and admits that he has “stuntmen do this sh*t for me.” He keeps dodging Baraka’s blows and runs away from the challenge at one point, but Baraka refuses to back down. He chases Cage to a hut, finds him, and throws him out of the hut.

Cage, who falls flat on his face, finds his shades and decides to play his cool movie character. He dodges more of Baraka’s attacks before going down on his knees and punching his enemy in the groin area.

Many fans of the game and the movie franchise were skeptical about Urban playing the role of Cage. However, the actor has delivered a surprisingly strong performance in all the promotional material that we have seen so far. He not only captures the charisma and the cool catchphrases like “It’s showtime!”, but also replicates his fighting style and kicks straight from the games.

6 Practical Magic 2

Susanne Bier’s Practical Magic sequel also introduced footage at CinemaCon, showing Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock’s characters in the movie. The Owens sisters are reintroduced, with the footage giving us a look into their current home life.

We see Kidman and Bullock’s characters training the family’s next generation of witches, played by Joey King and Maisie Williams. The family goes on an adventure after they are visited by Lee Pace’s mysterious character. They are shown to be working together to break another curse in this movie.

The new sequel promises to maintain the whimsical tone and magic from the first movie, while opening up space for these new characters. It appears that the film will remain faithful to Alice Hoffman’s novel. It will be released on September 11, 2026.

7 The Cat in the Hat

Inspired by the Dr. Seuss book, this movie from Warner Bros. Animation is about siblings Gabby and Sebastian (Xochitl Gomez and Tiago Martinez) who are forced to move into the city. As they feel depressed about being away from their homes, the Cat in the Hat, voiced by Bill Hader, enters their lives.

The clip at CinemaCon revealed that the movie has built its own narrative based on the source material. The visuals indicate an out-and-out children’s movie, which will be out in theaters on November 6, 2026.

8 The End of Oak Street

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s The End of Oak Street featured a teaser at CinemaCon, introduced by actor Patton Oswalt. The teaser showed a suburban family whose lives get turned around when they are transported to another time.

The teaser presents the movie as a survival thriller as Hathaway and McGregor’s characters try to protect their children from the dangers of this new time. Another clip shows a large, feathered creature, revealed to be a dinosaur, chasing the children down the street. David Robert Mitchell is the director, and J.J. Abrams serves as a producer. It is coming to theaters on August 14, 2026.

9 The Great Beyond

After taking on Star Wars and Star Trek, J.J. Abrams is moving on to a mysterious movie, starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega. He introduced the movie during the Warner Bros. presentation, revealing its title to be The Great Beyond.

The teaser suggested a sci-fi premise, kicking off with a H.G. Wells quote written across the computer screen: “There is, though I do not know how there is, or how it may be, another world, out of sight and sound.”

We see Powell and Ortega meeting at what seems to be a comic shop. The actress is sporting grey hair for the movie. The next cut shows Powell wearing a glowing headset. In another, he is seen running through the streets. The teaser also introduces Emma Mackey’s character.

The teaser didn’t reveal much about the movie’s plot. It will be Abrams’ first original movie since 2011’s Super 8. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 13, 2026.

10 Ti Amo!

Oscar-winning filmmaker Sean Baker will be helming Ti Amo! next. What made the presentation of Baker’s new movie so notable was the announcement of a new Warner Bros. label. The studio announced Warner Bros. Clockwork, which sounds like a tribute to Stanley Kubrick, especially with the orange logo. Ti Amo! is the first film of this division. It will be released in 2027.

11 Evil Dead Burn

Evil Dead Burn is the sixth installment in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead film series. An early look at the movie was released at CinemaCon, managing to scare the audience for good. In the footage, a woman stands in fear looking at a door.

A man and a woman walk in, asking, “Alice… What’s wrong?” There is a knocking on the door, and when it opens, someone walks in slowly. We initially see her hands, and it is gradually revealed to be a deadite with a car seat sticking through her head.

The clip then cuts to a funeral, where a guy explains how the dead would return if you read from the Book of the Dead. In another scene, we see someone’s fingers get chopped off from a door slamming. In one of the passing shots, a girl is seen drinking hot candle wax. And many more such horrifying shots!

The deadite with the car seat stuck in her head appears again. She pulls out the car seat from her head and approaches the guy in the house, who is scared for his life. The Evil Dead incantation can also be heard in this teaser.

It appears to be scarier than its previous versions, with the franchise seemingly taking it up a notch after 2023’s Evil Dead Rise. The movie stars Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, and George Pullar. It will be released on July 24, 2026.

Evil Dead Wrath: For the first time, we are getting Evil Dead films in back-to-back years. Sam Raimi also announced another sequel helmed by Francis Galluppi, titled Evil Dead Wrath. It is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2027. More details about this sequel will be announced soon.

12 Dune: Part Three

The Dune: Part Three announcement at CinemaCon was dramatic, as Denis Villeneuve and the cast were brought to the stage with chants from artists in Fremen suits. The executives got to see the first seven minutes from the third movie in the Dune film series.

The footage saw Stilgar and the Fremen soldiers on a spaceship discussing the impending war and how it could be the end for them. The Fremen then experience rain, which for them is a major miracle. The soldiers are then attacked, and in one scene, we see Stilgar and the soldiers charging towards giant cannons.

The men take cover and crawl under those giant cannons to get their coordinates. The war footage follows a sizzle reel, where clips from the previously released teaser trailer are played. The teaser showed trouble in the relationship between Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani.

The movie will continue to explore the power struggle from the previous movies and put Paul in the middle of a devastating political war. The film is set to clash with Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026.

13 Digger

Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu appeared at CinemaCon to promote Digger, which also marks the actor’s first collaboration with Warner Bros. in years. The footage at the event introduces Cruise’s character as a balding, foul-mouthed rich man, who is seen holding a cat in his mansion.

When Digger speaks to his cat, he has a thick southern accent. He begins to tell the cat the story of his grandfather, when he is interrupted and informed about an issue at a drilling site. He is told that the environmental damage from his drilling site has caused safety concerns, but he refuses to shut down. He curses, “I’m paying for everything! You say the f**king word and it’s done!”

We learn that his arrogance results in millions of displaced people. He meets up with John Goodman’s character, who says in the clip, “Digger here got us into this mess and Digger’s gonna dig us out of it again!” We also see Riz Ahmed’s character yelling at Digger, telling him to fix this mess.

The character is nothing like what we have seen from Cruise so far. The clip shows him in boardrooms and on jet planes, trying to reverse the effects of what he had done. Iñárritu’s movie is being promoted as a satirical black comedy, so fans have little clue as to what to expect. The film will be released in theaters on October 2, 2026.

14 Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest

The working title for the upcoming Game of Thrones movie was officially announced to be Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest. It will follow Aegon I Targaryen’s story from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels. It was announced among WB’s 2027 and beyond slate.

Other Warner Bros. Movies Announced at CinemaCon

During the presentation, Jack Black performed a song that was accompanied by a sizzle reel showing details from upcoming movies.

• A Minecraft Movie 2: Black’s arrival was to announce a sequel to A Minecraft Movie, which was a major hit for WB last year.
• Remain: M. Night Shyamalan directs this ghost movie. He appeared in the sizzle reel, talking about it.
• Ocean’s prequel: The reel showed Margot Robbie in the role of Danny Ocean’s mom. It also confirmed a ’60s setting as speculated earlier. The plot of the movie centers around Robbie and Bradley Cooper, who plays Ocean’s father, as they attempt to infiltrate the Monaco Grand Prix as spies. Cooper will also helm the movie.
• Margie Claus: Melissa McCarthy’s central character tries to save Christmas in this animated family movie.
• Shiver: Keanu Reeves stars in this shark survival thriller, directed by Tim Miller. The reel showed Reeves on the set of the movie.
