Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller have finally come to a truce!

The former couple has been in and out of court over the years on the issue of child support for the two sons they share. They welcomed twin boys, Max and Bob, in 2009, about a year after the exes tied the knot.

Charlie Sheen’s marriage to Brooke Mueller was not smooth sailing. They officially separated on Christmas Day, the same year they welcomed their sons after a widely publicized domestic dispute. The pair came back into the spotlight after the actress claimed her ex-husband owes $15 million in unpaid child support fees.

The numbers may be far off from what Mueller was expecting, but at least she is not walking away empty-handed. The retired actress would receive a lump sum from her ex after they reached an agreement in the child support case.

Sheen has agreed to pay his third ex-wife $500,000 to settle the case after she initially claimed he owed $15 million. According to the court documents, the “Two and a Half Men” star will pay Mueller $250,000 on or before this Friday, July 10. As regards the balance, he is to pay up in full on or before September 1.

As reported by TMZ, the payout is said to cover child support arrangements for Max and Bob, including accrued interest from March 2011 through July 2026.

This marks the settlement of the case that began in December 2025, when the mom of two filed a claim that Sheen owed $8,967,600 in child support and an additional $6,418,643 in accrued interest.

Child Support Cases May No Longer Emerge For The Former Couple

Mueller and Sheen have made waves since their 2011 divorce; this may be the last straw for them on this matter. Their twin boys are two years shy of becoming legal adults; hence, the issue of child support would no longer hold over them once they clock 18.

Also, according to the latest agreement, starting July 1, each parent will be solely financially responsible for the children while in their custody. This means the exes would shoulder the financial burden independently for Max and Bob whenever they are under their roofs.

The initial child support af]greement carried that Sheen would pay Mueller $55,000 monthly, which the mom of two claims he failed to hold up to and only sent partial payments “or failed to make any payment.”

A rep for the actor later claimed that “Brooke has been in and out of rehab for the past 15 years, while Charlie has had 100% custody of the kids, which is why she is not entitled to any child support.”

Mueller called out her ex-husband in court, claiming he failed to play by the book regarding the court’s ruling on financial support for their boys post-breakup. She stated that the film star failed to pay the court-mandated $660,000 per year in child support, and as such, the amount has grown into the millions.

She demanded that Sheen settle the case by paying her more than $15 million, including interest. In addition, the mom of two requested that he be held responsible for making her file a complaint for unpaid child support. The Blast reported that the “Cursed” actress also asked for an extra $25,000 in attorney fees and costs.

Overall, Mueller was not taking the chill pill in her requests; she wanted the actor to pay the hefty sum within 30 days of a court order. Her legal filing provided a breakdown of the child support payments she had received from her ex over the years.

She claimed that Sheen paid only $96,000 in 2016, $228,366 in 2017, and $113,000 in 2018. From 2019 to 2022, there were no payments; he resumed in 2023 with $20,000, $30,000 in 2024, and only $39,000 in 2025.

Back in 2022, it was reported by The Blast that the “Wall Street” actor had come to an agreement with Mueller, ending their years-long custody battle. At the time, headlines reported that the pair had reached an undisclosed financial agreement regarding the child support for Max and Bob.

The court documents state that “the Parties have reached a settlement regarding all issues raised” in the child support modification, and all hearings are removed from the court calendar. This came after Sheen filed legal docs in a Los Angeles court requesting that the initial amount rule be adjusted due to a change in his income.

At the time, Sheen claimed that he had “been unable to find steady work, and have been blacklisted from many aspects of the entertainment industry,” which ultimately led to a huge reduction in his earnings. The timeline coincided with his exit from “Two and a Half Men” and the disclosure of his HIV-positive status.

Sheen had his industry moments as an actor on the hit CBS sitcom for his role as Charlie Harper. At the time, he was hailed as the highest-paid actor on television. The Blast reports that the father of five earned nearly $2 million per episode, while his co-star’s pay was in the thousands.

Reportedly, Sheen was kicked off the series in 2011 after he publicly criticized the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, and also claimed that he was underpaid. The film star had a track record of erratic behavior that had become too much for the showrunners to handle.

During the height of his career, Sheen had become famous for his party-boy lifestyle, which his co-star Jon Cryer claims kept showrunners on their toes.

Cryer alleges that Sheen made so much off the sitcom because CBS was desperate to keep him happy. Over the years, he opened up about struggles with addiction, which in turn sparked the discovery of his sexual interest in men.
