The survey found that 81 per cent of Canadians support closer integration with the EU, including making it easier to trade, travel, work and study and to cooperate on security, while 56 per cent say Canada has more in common with the countries of the EU than with the United States. Just 16 per cent say Canada has more in common with the United States.

New York Times’ framing of Israel-Hamas war ‘imbalanced,’ lacked Israeli perspectives: study

The study analyzed 1,559 news articles from Oct. 7, 2023 to June 7, 2024. It found “only 52 articles overall make any reference to some dimension of Israeli suffering among the population that are not direct victims of October 7.” The author writes that the imbalances in coverage “create sympathy for the Palestinian people while at the same time diminishing Hamas’ responsibility for their situation and the continuation of the war.”

Although drug poisoning deaths dropped slightly in B.C. after decriminalization, the changes didn’t differ relative to other provinces, according to the study. “There is no effect that you’re seeing in B.C. that is not occurring in Ontario,” said its senior author.
