Sasuke Uchiha once stood near the ceiling of the shinobi world: Rinnegan, Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Six Paths chakra, Perfect Susanoo, and enough battle IQ to turn almost any technique into a nightmare. Then Boruto happened, and the definition of “strongest” became gloriously ridiculous.
Between the brutal loss of his Rinnegan, Ōtsutsuki transformations, and resurrected Tailed Beasts, the modern power scale has truly left Sasuke behind. The result is a strange new hierarchy where some Hidden Leaf ninjas have surpassed Sasuke outright, while others can do it only through a specific transformation or ability.
Here are the 6 with the strongest cases:
6 Rock Lee’s Eight Gates Gives Him One Last Shot at Sasuke
Rock Lee from Naruto. [Credit: Pierrot]Rock Lee is the wild card. He lacks ninjutsu and genjutsu, but the Eight Gates turn his body into a weapon capable of producing terrifying bursts of physical power and speed. His early battles already showed how opening the Fourth and Fifth Gates allowed Lee to push his body far beyond normal limits during the Chunin Exam. Against Sasuke, the appeal is obvious: Sharingan mastery means little if Lee becomes too fast and physically overwhelming to contain.
The only issue is that the full Eight Gates come with catastrophic consequences, and Lee has never received a confirmed equivalent of Might Guy’s legendary Eighth Gate feat. That said, Lee earns the last spot here as an undeniable lethal counter to Sasuke’s techniques.
5 Sarada’s Ohirume Finally Gives the Uchiha Heir God-Tier Power

Ohirume creates up to four black spheres whose gravitational pull can be manipulated independently. The spheres can also detonate, and Sarada can use their gravitational force to levitate and fly at high speed. That is a frightening matchup tool even for someone as versatile as Sasuke. Instead of competing with his Susanoo blow for blow, Sarada can manipulate positioning, gravity, and movement from a distance.
This gives Sarada an edge her father cannot replicate. Sasuke’s arsenal primarily relied on Chidori variants, fire release, and Kenjutsu. However, Sarada bypasses Sasuke’s standard defense by dictating the battle from afar. That said, Sarada’s Ohirume technique consumes huge amounts of chakra. Plus, using Mangekyō carries the risk of deteriorating eyesight. Her case is therefore based on Ohirume’s potential to create a matchup Sasuke’s traditional arsenal struggles to solve.
4 Himawari’s Kurama Power Makes Her a Nightmare for Sasuke

After Kurama’s death against Isshiki, the Nine-Tails eventually re-manifested inside Himawari with extraordinary speed compared with the normally lengthy rebirth process of a Tailed Beast. More fascinatingly, she is not simply another Kurama jinchūriki. Her Uzumaki and Hyuga heritage synergizes with Kurama’s chakra, producing enormous potential that even Daemon could sense.
That gives Himawari a power ceiling Sasuke never possessed naturally. Her problem is experience. Although she has surpassed Sasuke in terms of power level, she lacks the combat experience, which is why she ranks fourth on this list.
3 Kawaki’s Ōtsutsuki Arsenal Pushes Him Past Sasuke’s Limits

Through his restored Karma, Kawaki can use Sukunahikona to instantaneously shrink himself or objects and Daikokuten to store people or objects in a dimension where time does not flow. That creates a matchup nightmare for Sasuke. His Sharingan could read movements, while his Rinnegan supplied space-time abilities of its own, but Kawaki’s shinjutsu attacks come from angles traditional shinobi defenses were never designed to handle.
The caveat is important: Kawaki has not simply erased every advantage Sasuke possessed. His placement rests on the ceiling created by Isshiki’s abilities and Kawaki’s ability to wield them. In a direct matchup, those powers give him a credible route beyond Sasuke’s peak rather than proving permanent superiority in every circumstance.
2 Boruto Turns Sasuke’s Own Legacy Into a New Powerhouse

After leaving Konoha with his mentor, Boruto developed abilities that dramatically expanded beyond the techniques he inherited. His Rasengan Uzuhiko uses the planet’s rotation and orbit rather than relying solely on conventional chakra manipulation, continuously destabilizing an opponent’s balance while inflicting damage. He also developed his own version of Flying Raijin, allowing him to teleport to marked locations, alongside his Ōtsutsuki abilities.
Although Boruto’s version has restrictions compared with Minato’s, he mastered it far faster thanks to Kashin Koji’s Prescience. That combination makes current Boruto uniquely dangerous. Sasuke’s peak was built around overwhelming versatility; Boruto’s new arsenal attacks the rules of combat themselves. His advantage is especially convincing against opponents who cannot answer his mobility and Uzuhiko.
1 Naruto’s Baryon Mode Puts Sasuke’s Peak to Shame
Naruto’s Baryon Mode is the cleanest case of a Hidden Leaf ninja temporarily blowing past Sasuke’s peak. Rather than simply adding Kurama’s chakra to his own, Baryon Mode fuses their chakra to create an entirely new form of energy, burning through life force as fuel. The result was a dramatic leap in Naruto‘s speed, reflexes, and physical power against Isshiki. More importantly, physical contact shortened the opponent’s remaining lifespan.
Sasuke’s Rinnegan and Perfect Susanoo offered extraordinary versatility, but Baryon Naruto works on a different physical tier. Its weakness is that it’s temporary and ultimately cost Kurama his life. Still, if the question is who could exceed Sasuke’s peak during a single decisive battle, Naruto’s history already gave us the answer.
