X user, ImStillDissin, claimed that Nickelodeon had accidentally emailed him the entire Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender movie (via Polygon). As proof, he went on to post two clips and an image of the credits from the movie. As of writing, the user’s social media post has been hit with a copyright strike. Back in December, Paramount revealed that the latest Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film will focus on an adult Aang. The report from THR stated that in the film, Aang will discover an ancient power that might save the world. The potential storyline, according to THR, read:
The world’s last Airbender learns of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, he embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve.
However, any details of this ‘ancient power’ have been kept under wraps so far. The leaked footage suggests that the ancient power could be another ancient Airbender trapped in ice for a long time.

Aang and Katara in Avatar: The Last Airbender | Credits: NickelodeonAvatar: Aang, The Last Airbender was initially scheduled for a theatrical release. However, Paramount announced last December that the movie would be arriving on streaming, as a Paramount+ original (via THR). It was a disappointing update for many fans who were hoping to see Aang and his team take on the Fire Nation on the big screen.
It was also confirmed that the next chapter, Avatar: Seven Havens, is also planned as a streaming release. Jane Wiseman, the Head of Originals for Paramount+, shared in a statement:
The Avatar Universe has captivated audiences for two decades, and Paramount+ is proud to be the exclusive streaming home for its beloved animated incarnation. The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Avatar: Seven Havens represent the next evolution of storytelling from Avatar Studios — bringing together remarkable talent both in front of and behind the camera to deliver the epic adventures and emotional depth fans have come to expect.
Wiseman also added that the streaming releases aimed to solidify the platform as the destination for the animated Avatar Universe. The director and cast aren’t happy about the decision. Director Lauren Montgomery shared on her Instagram:

Aang voice actor Eric Nam commented on her post, “This NEEEEEEDS to be watched on the big screen!!!” However, it appears that Paramount won’t change its mind about the streaming release.
