Angelo Stiller hails his Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeneß as the best German coach in an exclusive interview with Bundesliga. The relationship between the duo started even before they helped Bayern II become 3. Liga champions in the 2019/20 season. After their short reunion in Hoffenheim, they are now at the end of their third year together at VfB Stuttgart.

"Yes, 100 percent. Only him, the boss, Mr. Hoeneß," answered Stiller when he was asked about whether he thinks Hoeneß is the best German coach right now. "I think no one else could have achieved what he has achieved, taking the club (Stuttgart) from 18th place to the top, winning the DFB-Pokal, and qualifying for Europe.

“He has also improved every single player and given everyone confidence. Not many coaches can do that."

For Stiller, Hoeneß’s role is a big factor in Stuttgart’s recent rise to the top. "He is very important. For everyone here, he is a huge factor. He is authentic, connects with everyone, and has put the club back on a successful path. He has helped me a lot, both in football and personally.

“Trust is the most important thing. As a player, you need trust from the coach, and the coach needs reliability from the player. It is mutual trust, and I am very grateful for that.”
