Elizabeth, who was one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the late ’90s and early 2000s thanks to her scene-stealing turns in the teen comedy, the original Scary Movie and Love Actually, told PEOPLE that she was motivated to join the adult subscription service in order to be “closer to my fans.”

“I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans,” Elizabeth, 52, said.
She said she is “choosing OnlyFans” so she has a direct line to people who have supported her career.
“It allows me to connect directly with my audience, create on my own terms, and just be free. I really do think this is the future,” she said.

“OnlyFans gives me the opportunity to offer something more — a behind the scenes, unfiltered look at my life and a genuine connection that no other platform allows,” Elizabeth added in a statement to Variety. “This is also where I’ll be sharing exclusive content that you simply won’t find anywhere else. This isn’t just content to watch from a distance. This is for the people who have always shown up for me, and I want them to feel that.”

But Elizabeth, who launched her conservation charity the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation in 2018, said that she’s “not the girl who likes to be naked.”
“Even at home I’m always covered up,” she explained to Entertainment Tonight in March. “Like I have friends that sleep in the nude and they don’t mind walking around that way. That was never me, but because that was kind of my coming out, everyone assumed I was that girl.”
Elizabeth traded fame for saving wildlife
A decade ago, Elizabeth became a fierce wildlife advocate, establishing her own foundation after a visit to South Africa.
“When I first went out there, and I came back, I was living in New York at the time,” Elizabeth told Fox News Digital in an interview earlier this month.
“And I remember this moment of standing at a crosswalk,” she said. “Everybody’s looking down at their phones, or they’re on their phones. The crosswalk changes, and everybody just starts rushing each way. Nobody’s paying attention except to whatever is in their hand at that moment … I just had this feeling come over me of feeling like I had just been to Africa, and the problems there felt so real — and they are real.”

Elizabeth, who also started a dog and cat rescue in 2001, said that she realized she “wasn’t making a difference” back home in America.
“I knew I wanted to do more and do something on a bigger scale or help more animals,” she said. “And eventually, all roads were leading me to South Africa.”
When she learned about rhinos being targeted for their horns, Elizabeth became involved in helping conservationists protect the species from poachers.

“We were doing quite a bit, and then a blind black rhino found us that needed help,” she said. “He was our inspiration to build a sanctuary. So, we’ve been taking care of him for the past few years. We’re now looking to expand that.”
The Dancing With the Stars alum said that people might be surprised that she traded her celebrity for saving wildlife in South Africa. But she’s exactly where she wants to be.
“I just wanted to understand what I could do to help,” she said. “I love the U.S., but I also love exploring. I love other countries. I love other cultures and learning. And I think for a long time, I was immersed here. I knew what it was like here, and I just wanted a change. I just wanted something different and to feel like I was doing something more important than just working on myself.”

Celebrities on OnlyFans nothing new
OnlyFans has been a hit with other high-profile creators, including Drea de Matteo, Iggy Azalea, Denise Richards, Carmen Electra, Jessie Cave, Cardi B, Bella Thorne, Lily Allen, Tyga, and Chris Brown.
De Matteo joined the platform when she couldn’t find work as an actress over her refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
“It saved us,” she told the Daily Mail in 2024. “OnlyFans saved my life, 100%. I can’t believe I’m saying that, but it really did save us.”
According to USA Today, in her OnlyFans bio, Elizabeth describes herself as an actress, storyteller and “a little mischievous.”
“Here you’ll find the side of me that doesn’t make it into movies — more playful, spontaneous, and completely unscripted,” she says, promising that her page will offer “exclusive” photos and videos. “If you’ve ever been curious what I’m really like … You’re about to find out.”
