PlayStation might be caught up in several controversies, but it’s continuing business as usual by adding a fresh bunch of games to PS Plus. As always, subscribers on the Essential, Extra, or Premium tiers can claim the monthly games at no additional cost, and keep them in their library for as long as they maintain an active subscription. For July 2026, the lineup includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For The King II, and CrossCode. But what does each game have to offer, and are they worth downloading? Well, here’s everything you need to know about the PS Plus monthly free games for July 2026.
1 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III – Cross-Gen Bundle

If you’re someone who is in the mood for some FPS this month, then PS Plus has you covered with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III! This is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and continues the story of Captain Price and his Task Force 141 as they do whatever it takes to hunt down the notorious war criminal Vladimir Makarov. Once you’ve wrapped up the story, there’s more.
The multiplayer is one of the best in the franchise, as it brings back some of the most beloved classics alongside new battlegrounds for players to fight in. You can also squad up with your friends in the new open-world Zombies mode, where you must take up massive hordes of zombies. Whether you’re here for the campaign, competitive multiplayer, or zombies, the game has enough content to keep you occupied for hundreds of hours.
2 For the King II

Luckily, PS Plus subscribers can add it to their library at no extra cost this month. A sequel to 2018’s For the King, the game takes place right after Queen Rosomon descends into tyranny, enslaving her own people. As one of the realm’s brave adventurers, it’s up to you to rally a party and overthrow the ruler before her reign of terror consumes everything.
For The King II is a mix of a tactical RPG with turn-based combat and roguelite progression. If that wasn’t enough, the battles play out on a grid-based battlefield, which will remind you of a tabletop. You can enjoy the game solo, but it truly shines when in co-op, allowing up to four players to join forces. So, gather your allies, defeat the Queen, and fight to restore peace to the kingdom as the fate of the realm is in your hands.
3 CrossCode

It features gorgeous 16-bit SNES-style pixel art where you have a satisfying blend of fast-paced combat, challenging puzzle-solving, and platforming.
You step into the shoes of Lea, who has lost her voice and most of her memories. As you progress through the adventure, you’ll uncover the truth behind her past and also unravel the secrets of the world around her. Along the way, you also get access to a range of abilities, weapons, and tools that expand both combat and exploration. So, master your skills, exploit enemy weaknesses, and customize your build with the right equipment to overcome enemies. It’s a game that you can’t miss out on!
