FC Schalke 04 no longer have to worry about the future of Adil Aouchiche, with the midfielder set to stay in Gelsenkirchen long term.

As reported by Sky Germany, Aouchiche will extend his contract, which expires in 2027, until 2030 at the beginning of next week.

Prior to this information, the 24-year-old had an offer pending until 2029 on the table for weeks, but now he's signing for another year.

According to the pay-TV channel, Swansea City had recently produced a €5million offer for the Frenchman, but were turned down by Schalke.

Just six months ago, the newly promoted Bundesliga side signed Aouchiche on a free transfer from Sunderland.
