Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has a new extraction mode called DMZ, and Activision has given us a huge Operator progression system. With the new trait system, you can specialize in combat, resource collection, and survival. With the success of the campaign, we can only hope the multiplayer side does well.

There are 66 Operator Traits across the Warfighter, Scout, and Survivalist classes, and each Operator can earn a maximum of 18 Trait Points. Any Traits you select cannot be refunded normally. So make sure to prioritize the most useful upgrades for your needs. Here are the seven best Operator Traits in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ, ranked by their overall usefulness and strength.

7 Consumable Duration

Consumable Duration is an excellent choice if you like to use a lot of consumables. The Trait extends the duration of consumable effects, allowing you to benefit from your supplies longer.

This is useful during longer runs, when resources are limited. Rather than burning through consumables as quickly, you can get more value from each use. This trait doesn’t improve your weapon damage or provide additional loot, but it’s a worthwhile investment.

6 Quick Fix

Quick Fix is one of the best traits in the Warfighter tree. It reduces the delay before you start regenerating health after you kill an enemy operator or hostile. This ability rewards players who can consistently win gunfights. After defeating an enemy, you can begin healing sooner and get ready for the next fight without waiting as long for your health to regenerate.

Quick Fix is useful when you’re fighting multiple opponents in succession. However, it is less useful if you prefer avoiding combat.

5 Field Crafting

Field Crafting allows Operators to create items from Common printer resources during a match. This provides additional flexibility when a mission becomes unpredictable, or the equipment brought into a match proves insufficient.

Instead of relying only on the consumables you bring into the mission, you can use available resources to craft items during a run. This is useful in longer matches when returning to the Forward Operating Base is not an option.

Field Crafting is not necessarily the best choice for every playstyle, but it gives you more tools to work with, making it a useful alternative to more combat-centered Traits.

4 Numb the Pain

Numb the Pain is one of the best Survivalist Traits if you’re playing with friends or on a team. It automatically applies Painkiller and Smelling Salts effects when an Operator is revived.

This helps teammates get back into the fight with extra benefits, and it can even determine whether your squad gets wiped out.

3 Possum

The Possum trait is one of the best survival tools in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. Once per match, it lets you use a self-revive to enter Last Stand and restores your health to full.

So if you ever make a mistake that would usually cost you the match, this gives you a second chance. You don’t want to lose an Operator after investing numerous Trait Points into their development. You can use it only once per match, but escaping elimination still makes it exceptionally valuable.

2 UAV Upgrade

Information is crucial in an extraction shooter, and UAV Upgrade helps Operators gather it more effectively. This Scout Trait increases UAV range and duration while upgrading basic UAVs to Advanced UAVs.
