58-year-old man dead in Ottawa's first homicide of 2025

A 58-year-old man is dead in what police are investigating as the city’s first homicide of the year.

Ottawa police were called to a home on Pondhollow Way in the Stonebridge subdivision of Barrhaven. Once there, they found the man dead.

In an overnight press release, police said the man was not being named until after they had notified his next of kin.

No arrests have been made, but police believe there is no further threat to public safety.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Ottawa Police Service homicide unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
