It seems 2024 might turn out to be the worst year ever for a lot of celebrities. From the recent arrest of Sean Diddy Comb to now MrBeast being sued, things keep getting interesting and shocking. The acclaimed YouTuber and media personality, along with Amazon, has been sued by unnamed contestants from his popular Beast Games competition.

The YouTuber is known for making contestants compete in bizarre challenges and games for prize money and is set to bring about one of the biggest reality TV shows along with Amazon. However, before his Beast Games show could air, his image is in serious trouble given the recent lawsuit.

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as the YouTuber MrBeast is set to expand his empire via a reality TV show in collaboration with Amazon. An extension of his YouTube channel, where he has contestants try extreme challenges, he is set to bring about one of the biggest reality TV shows of all time.

With over 2,000 contestants participating for a $5 million grand prize, the first leg of the competition has already been completed with 1,000 contestants already disqualified. Poised as the biggest TV show of all time with a scale that has never been attempted before, there apparently have been more than a few problems (via Rolling Stone).

Five unnamed contestants of Beast Games have filed a class-action lawsuit against the YouTuber and Amazon, alleging that the show put them through extreme conditions, including s*xual harassment and more. Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, according to the redacted copy of the complaint, the lawsuit demands MrBeast’s company and Amazon pay alleged unpaid wages and punitive monetary damages as well (via Variety).

While there have been no comments made so far from Amazon or MrBeast, the lawsuit is seriously threatening to both the YouTuber and the company’s image.

The lawsuit filed by the contestants claims several of them were deprived of food, sleep, medical care, and even basic hygiene necessities. There are also charges of alleged s*xual harassment and an employee handbook detailing conduct that seems borderline s*xual harassment nature.

While a release date for Beast Games has not been revealed by Amazon, this lawsuit has caused enough controversy and problems. As soon as the news of the lawsuit went viral, this is what fans of the YouTuber had to say:

With the lawsuit and so much drama around Beast Games, it won’t be wrong to think that maybe the YouTuber should have continued his way of helping people and charity instead of taking a Squid Game-esque route. Now, only time will tell whether Beast Games will ever make it out to the public and whether or not MrBeast will be able to salvage his image.
