No suspects being sought after victims found at two separate crime scenes near 401, Victoria Park Ave.

One man is dead and another male victim is fighting for his life after a Monday afternoon double shooting in Scarborough that included separate crime scenes several blocks apart.
Toronto Police Duty Insp. Jonathan Rose told reporters at the scene that officers originally responded to an unknown trouble call at 3:16 p.m. in the Victoria Park-Hwy. 401 area and found a male victim without vital signs suffering from gunshot wounds.

Victoria Park Ave & Hwy 401
3:20pm
- reports of two people located with gunshot wounds

He was pronounced dead at the scene, which was reportedly near an apartment building on Terraview Blvd., south of the 401, CP24 reported. They said “multiple evidence markers” lined the roadway there.
Multiple crime scenes
Then at about 3:20 p.m., police received a shooting call near Victoria Park and Sheppard Ave. E., where an adult male was also located with gunshot wounds and rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The scene was near a TD Bank branch, which was cordoned off with crime scene tape.
Rose said both incidents were related, but did not offer any other details.
“How that was determined, I was not told,” he said.
No suspects being sought
Rose declined to provide details about the victims, but said investigators were speaking to witnesses and canvassing for video footage “to better understand what occurred here today.
“Please know that we are dedicating all necessary resources to this investigation and residents can expect to see an increased police presence here and also at the other scene,” he said, noting that the shooting was deemed the city’s 17th homicide of the year.
Rose said investigators were not looking for suspects.
“We do not have any information that the public is at risk at this time,” he said.
