Weekend traffic: Ville-Marie tunnel closed, and overnight closings on highways 15, 20 and 25

Route 136

The Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels will be completely closed eastbound from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The last open exit is de la Montagne St., and traffic will be detoured to St-Antoine St.

The highway will also be closed westbound from Robert-Bourassa Blvd. to the Turcot Interchange from 11 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday, and have only two lanes open eastbound between the Turcot Interchange and the Guy St. exit during that time.

Highway 25

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will be closed in both directions from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Sunday and northbound only from 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday. The closings extend to Sherbrooke St. on the Montreal side, and northbound to Yves-Prévost Blvd. on Friday night.

Souligny Ave.

The street leading to Highway 25 will be closed eastbound between Dickson St. and Honoré-Beaugrand St. from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Turcot Interchange

The following ramps will be closed overnights this weekend:

• Highway 15 north to 15 north, 12:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday
• Highway 20 east to 15 north, 11 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday
• Highway 15 north to 20 west, 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday
• Highway 15 south to Route 136 east, 11 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday
• Highway 15 south to 20 west, 11 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday
• Highway 20 east to 15 north and south, 11 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday
• All ramps to Highway 15 south, 11 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday
• St-Jacques St. to Highway 15 north, 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday
• Girouard Ave. entrance to Highway 15 south, 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday

In addition, the Décarie Expressway will be down to one lane between the Turcot Interchange and the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce tunnel from 12:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday.

Highway 20

The highway will be completely closed westbound between Angrignon Blvd. and the St-Pierre Interchange from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, with traffic diverted to the service road.

Eastbound, the highway will be completely closed between 1st Ave. and St-Pierre Ave. in Lachine. Traffic will be diverted to the service road.

Route 138

All exits to and entrances from Clément St. in LaSalle will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Clément St. itself is closed in both directions between St-Patrick St. and Lafleur Ave.

Highway 520

The eastbound service road will be closed from 3 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday, which will also block the ramp from Highway 13 south and toward Highway 13 north. The highway itself will be entirely closed the rest of the weekend until 5 a.m. Monday, with traffic diverted to that service road, and down to one lane when the service road is closed.

Bell Centre area

The are bordered by Peel St., René-Lévesque Blvd., de la Montagne St. and Canadiens-de-Montréal Ave. will be closed to traffic Saturday from 1 p.m. until after the Canadiens-Sabres game for an outdoor watch party.

REM

The Réseau express métropolitain opens the doors to its newest branch this weekend, with free service from the Des Sources, Fairview-Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Anse-à-l’Orme stations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

STM and Exo

With the new REM stations opening, the Société de transport de Montréal launches its new bus network for the West Island and centre and north sectors on Monday, and Exo is making changes to its routes in the Presqu’Île sector that day as well. Dozens of bus routes will be created, eliminated or change that day. See stm.info and exo.quebec for details.

• Highway 10: Eastbound Exit 3 for Carrie-Derick St. is permanently closed as part of the rebuilding of the Bonaventure.
• Highway 19 (Papineau-Leblanc Bridge): Two lanes are open on the bridge between Montreal and Laval in each direction, with partial or complete closings on some nights until the end of 2026.
• Highway 20 (Vaudreuil-Dorion): Work to renovate the intersection of Harwood Blvd. and Bellemare St. continues until August. The work involves partial and complete closings overnight between Route 342 and Ranger Ave., and narrow 3.2-metre lanes and a 40 km/h speed limit otherwise. Detours will be set up using Chicoine St.
• Highway 40 (Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge): The bridge is down to five lanes — two toward Montreal and two toward Vaudreuil-Dorion, with a fifth lane alternating directions (toward Montreal from midnight to 10 a.m. weekdays and toward Vaudreuil-Dorion from noon to 10 p.m. weekdays and all weekends and holidays).
• Highway 520: Work on the overpass over 43rd Ave. will divert traffic to the service roads until end of May.
• Jean-Talon St.: Work on building the Blue Line métro extension means parts of Jean-Talon St. are closed. Affected buses (in particular 141, 188 and 372) are detoured onto Bélanger and Everett Sts. to avoid those areas, and a temporary shuttle bus (No. 814) has been established along Jean-Talon and Bélanger Sts.
• Ste-Catherine St. (Ville-Marie): Major work on the street and underground infrastructure means it is closed between St-Mathieu and Mackay Sts., and between de la Montagne and Peel Sts. Crossing streets are also blocked. Guy St. is closed at Ste-Catherine St.
• Berri St. (Ville-Marie): Major work at the Berri-UQAM métro station has resulted in Berri St. being closed between Ste-Catherine and Ontario Sts., and de Maisonneuve Blvd. being closed between St-Denis and St-Hubert Sts. until November 2027. Traffic is detoured via St-Hubert, Atateken, St-Urbain or Ontario Sts., or René-Lévesque Blvd., while cyclists are being diverted to Atateken and Ontario Sts. STM buses 30 and 50 have been cut short to avoid the area, and express bus 427 has been suspended, with additional departures added to the 27 bus on St-Joseph Blvd. in the Plateau. • Viger Ave. (Ville-Marie): Two of three lanes are closed westbound between Clark and Côté Sts. until May 18.
• Pie-IX Blvd. (Mercier—Hochelaga-Maisonneuve): Work to extend the SRB Pie-IX south means only one lane is open in each direction between Pierre-de-Coubertin Ave. and Notre-Dame St. Ste-Catherine St. is blocked at Pie-IX, so traffic is rerouted via Notre-Dame St. until end of June.
• St-Urbain St. (Ville-Marie): The overpass over the Ville-Marie Expressway is closed for a long renovation until the end of 2026. Pedestrian access is maintained. One of two lanes is also closed between de la Gauchetière St. and Viger St. until May 18, but the bike lane remains open.
• De Chateaubriand Ave. (Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie): Closed until the end of June for sewer work between Jean-Talon and Bélanger Sts.
