Toronto Police said they received reports of a person armed with a knife at Rosedale Station on Monday at about 2:45 p.m., when the accused allegedly stole the fire extinguisher.

He then left the station and approached two victims, who attempted to flee. One of the victims fell to the ground and was allegedly assaulted by the accused before the other victim tried to stop him and was also assaulted.

The accused fled before police arrived, while the victims were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Logan Cachene, 21, of no fixed address, is wanted for aggravated assault, assault, theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order.

He is about 5-foot-7 with a heavy build, short, black, curly hair and a black goatee.

Cops warn of distraction thefts after arrests

Police are warning about a distraction theft scheme after charging a man and a woman accused of two such incidents in recent months in Etobicoke.

Toronto Police said they originally responded to a theft call on June 14 at about 10:30 a.m. in the Bloor St. W.-Islington Ave. area, where the victim was approached outside of her residence by the suspects.

The suspects engaged the victim in a conversation and demanded they gift the victim with jewelry. The victim refused the gift, but the suspects allegedly removed her jewelry anyway and replaced it with cheaper pieces.

Police said they also responded to another theft call in the same area on Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m., when the suspects were again driving in the area and approached the same victim outside of her residence.

They tried to converse with the victim again and take more jewelry, but were recognized.

Police were contacted and they found the suspects nearby.
