It’s an issue Ainsley Rose, co-founder of the Vancouver brand Londre Bodywear, well knew.

“I’ve travelled to over 44 countries and could never find a bag that had the functionality I needed — like being waterproof and good for my laptop, but still felt esthetically appealing,” Rose says. “It felt like my needs, as an adventurous, on-the-go woman were retrofitted into the boys’ world of adventure bags.”

Rose and Londre co-founder Hannah Todd set about creating the perfect line of Bond-girl-inspired accessories that were waterproof but still worked.

Article content

“We knew we could create something better and it took two years to design,” Rose says. “But we finally made the perfect design.”

Launched with a waterproof belt bag and an oversized waterproof tote, the new pieces were created for “women whose lives are too full to be switching bags all the time,” Rose says. “For the women want to do more with total confidence from the commute, to the airplane to the beach.”

The airtight dry bags are engineered to IPX7 waterproof standards and can be submerged in up to one metre of water for up to 30 minutes. They’re so good, the brand even suggests that it’s OK to put your laptop in it.

Since launching this season, Rose says the response has been extraordinary.

Article content

“We sold out of our first round before it was even ready to ship,” she says.” People have been stunned — the fact that it’s fully airtight but beautiful enough to bring anywhere makes it completely unique.”
