Paris Hilton‘s former school is facing the music of years-long allegations.

The wait was long, but the Hollywood socialite’s protest six years ago about the abuse at the school she attended as a teenager, left unaddressed, yielded fruit when its license was withdrawn.

Paris Hilton had previously testified against the Provo Canyon School in Congress in 2022, a move that birthed several laws targeting protection of teens and their well-being in over 15 states.

Hilton did not hesitate to communicate her relief at the decision taken by the state of Utah to axe Provo Canyon School for neglecting over 50 years of haunting stories of abuse from children who attended the establishment.

The actress continued that being one of those kids who experienced those horrific days made it even more surreal to know that children inside the facility now know they will finally be protected.

The decision by Utah was taken on Monday, June 6, accusing the school and its management of failing to comply with important guidelines.

Several offenses were slammed against Provo Canyon School, including several incidents that happened last year, including refusing to employ more staff to address their teeming clientele. The school also allegedly failed to tick the appropriate boxes when it comes to background checks for applicants. 

Provo Canyon School was also sanctioned for its aggressive conduct towards a client and failing to provide care for those in need. Page Six revealed that the institution had earlier felt the wrath of State Health authorities in May for failing to provide swift medical attention to an affected student.

The mother-of-two pulled the bold move of showing up at Capitol Hill alongside a team of survivors bearing placards and loud voices to demand for a lasting solution. Hilton had also tabled her case in front of some lawmakers to help create reform within the facilities. 

The actress was beyond proud to see that her efforts led to changed laws at the state level, with a path leading to the future of a federal change.

Hilton stressed during her appearance on “The Project” that her mission in life is to continue the meaningful legacy and continue fighting until change is effected in the appropriate quarters.

The mogul admitted in her 2021 documentary that her parents agreed sending her off to Provo Canyon School for some straightening up was a move in the right direction, but she knew better. 

Hilton recalled being a raging 17-year-old in the 90s, living out her wildest dreams by sneaking off to parties and clubs, with the consequences coming financially, as her phone and credit card were seized.

From the start of her stay till it ended, Hilton revealed that it was less teaching and more torture, with hurtful words and bullying being the order of the day.

The actress saw the actions of staff at Provo Canyon School as a plot to break down their self-esteem and instill so much fear that disobeying them would come with so much fear.

Hilton confessed that she still deals with the nightmares from such a dark period in her life with recurring scenes in her sleep about running from something. A lasting effect of her time at the institution was severe insomnia that left her surviving on three hours of sleep every night.

Hilton’s experience at Provo Canyon School in the 90s offered the perfect backdrop for her to make a few important demands when she appeared at Congress in June.

USA Today reported that Hilton had a touching session with the House Ways and Means Committee bordering on an overhaul of America’s foster care system. 

The fashion icon recalled being taken away from the comfort of her home as a teenager and subjected to a reality of sexual abuse, rough handling, forceful medications, and solitary confinement.

From deceiving parents about the true state of things in the school for a continued system of profiting off children’s traumas, Hilton explained that reviewing the laws has become an emergency. 

Since becoming a parent, Hilton confessed that her perspective has changed, and she has been around for a long time to become a voice for the voiceless kids who are victims of a poorly managed system.

As noted by The Blast, Paris recalled being the still voice in the storm for herself, steadying and reassuring her of better days ahead of the scary curve.

Hilton has found herself living out that purpose by helping others, including Spears, multiple times over the years by speaking up for her when the media attention gets excruciatingly annoying again.

Spears has equally clarified in the past that nothing about their friendship was wild as portrayed for clickbait; instead, it was an exchange of them being proud of each other’s exploits and achievements.
