Winter expected to ‘salvage its reputation’ this year, just not in Toronto

The mild weather we have been experiencing so far this fall will continue as we near the so-called colder months, at least in Toronto and the rest of Southern Ontario.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting warmer-than-normal temperatures between October and December, while Toronto has a 75% chance of above-normal temperatures from October through December, Kevin Connor reported.

While Ontario is predicted to see normal levels of precipitation those months, other parts of the province may see above-average snowfall at the end of the year.

Between the above-average temperatures and precipitation projections, there’s even a chance that Ontario may escape the year with minimal snowfall.

Homeless ex-Playboy model hopes for better days ahead

Louise Glover was once living the life, partying in the Playboy mansion and enjoying that rent-free life.

But the 41-year-old has fallen from her days as Playboy’s top model in 2006.

After suffering major health issues in 2010, including a five-week stint in hospital, Glover is now homeless, living in a tent on a farm in rural England — and she’s terrified of the upcoming winter.

But she isn’t desperate enough to turn to OnlyFans and is trying to reignite her personal training career and start a dog-walking business to make ends meet.

Despite it all, though, she remains optimistic and believes her “luck will change soon.”

WARMINGTON: Steelworker who confronted Trudeau has more to say

Remember when Justin Trudeau and a regular blue-collar Canadian worker went toe-to-toe in a verbal sparring match in Sault Ste. Marie?

For a while there, the steelworker couldn’t be located, but Joe Warmington did what he does best and found Kyle Mero to talk to him about his confrontation with the Prime Minister.

Mero told Warmington he had no idea Trudeau was going to be at Algoma Steel that fateful day. But when he was offered a doughnut and asked to be part of a photo-op, Mero figured he would use his time a little more wisely — by saying what was on his mind (and the minds of many Canadians).

Their exchange, which culminated with Mero telling Trudeau he only has “another year” in office, went viral for all the right reasons, and ended with the two men agreeing to disagree.

LILLEY: Chants of ‘death to Canada’ cannot be accepted at rallies

We’ve all heard about the hate rallies in Canada, with demonstrators showing their loud and proud support of terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

But when protest organizers in Vancouver began chanting “Death to Canada,” resulting in the crowd cheering, that’s a whole other level of hate, Brian Lilley reported.

The speeches were given at a vigil to commemorate/celebrate the Hamas terror attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, and it was, frankly, disgusting to hear.

For the past year, there have been protests across Canada openly supporting and defending Hamas’ terror attack, and that support and defence has shifted to include Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.

‘Beloved’ CHCH news director who died before broadcast mourned

Viewers of Hamilton television station CHCH were confused when the 6 p.m. news broadcast on Oct. 4 didn’t air.

But the confusion turned to shock when it was soon learned that one of the show’s directors had died suddenly prior to air, Denette Wilford reported.

A statement was shared on social media and the station’s news director briefly went on the air to share as much as he could about the passing of Chantel Grillo and how heartbroken the entire newsroom was about losing their “amazing and talented” colleague and “beloved friend.”

Family members also started a GoFundMe to help Grillo’s family as they cope with the shocking loss.

Gone way too soon. May Chantel rest in peace.
