As a beginner, you’ll hardly have any idea about the weapons you need to look for, and while you’ll make do with your starting weapons in the early game, there will come a time when you need to switch and Ascend. 5 Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol

Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol is a glorious sidearm to have when fighting bosses and mobs in Windrose. It scales with Precision and is obtained from Pirate Chests located around the seas. Unlike the other Pistols, save for the Reliable Pistol, this weapon fires two quick shots in succession, which is its base ability.

When Ascended to Epic rarity, this Pistol forms a synergy with your primary weapon, inflicting Vulnerability stacks on enemies. All damage dealt to enemies affected by Vulnerability is increased by 15%, so if you’re looking for a reliable sidearm to have that pairs well with your primary one-handed weapon, look no further than the Drake’s Double-Barreled Pisol.

4 Cutlass

However, when you Ascend this weapon to its Epic version, the special attack becomes crazier. When you activate the special attack, you instantly restore 35% of your maximum health. The Reliable Pistol becomes even more reliable when you Ascend it to its Epic rarity, which unlocks the ability to deal 15% Bonus Damage to pirates, outlaws, and other cutthroats. This scales with Precision, so invest your Stat Points in this attribute if you want the strongest version of this weapon.

Its base ability is to apply the Bleeding effect on enemies. Each Bleed stack deals 25 Damage per second and can stack up to 5 times, meaning that’s 125 Damage per second. When you Ascend this weapon to Epic, the Bleed Damage inflicted with it equipped will restore Temporal Health, which is a pretty insane and incredibly useful passive to have.
