Tite Kubo’s Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has established itself as one of the most compelling anime series that returned in the Fall of 2022. The Shonen series managed to win back the fans by picking up the story from where it left off and animating the biggest arc in the franchise’s history.

Right off the bat, it was evident that Pierrot, the studio behind the anime adaptation, has been making some massive changes. This included the visuals, the gripping fight scenes, the pace, and the screen time given to each character.

This notion included more attention to the adored characters from the original series, where characters like Yoruichi Shihouin got the much-needed spotlight. Thus, the viewers are delighted as the series does divine justice to the Captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13.

Yoruichi Shihouin’s treatment in Bleach: TYBW would make Tite Kubo proud

Part of the Big Three of the Shonen genre, Tite Kubo’s Bleach has always been the black sheep that has often been relatively underappreciated compared to its other two peers. The series brought something new to the table that included interesting powers and fights that did not purely depend on the power levels.

The title also featured a long list of characters who were complex and extremely powerful but could not capitalize on this unique point. The original series focused mainly on Ichigo Kurosaki and the main characters, thus sidelining the names that looked promising at first glance. Yoruichi Shihouin has also been the victim of this notion.

The former Captain of the 2nd Division has been the most promising female character that Kubo-Sensei had introduced in the original series. She overshadows everyone in the show in terms of speed, defeating them before they move a muscle, and her unique ability to coat herself with electricity makes her the most unique Shinigami in the series.

While the manga author filled her with unique abilities, which will even make Ichigo Kurosaki jealous, he decided to give her minimal screen time that hindered her growth as a character.

However, the sequel series aims to correct every mistake that was made in the 2004 anime adaptation, including the redemption of the character.

Part 3 of TYBW  flaunted Yoruichi in the limelight, where viewers witnessed the former Captain of the 2nd Division of Gotei 13 taking on Askin Nakk Le Vaar, where he pinned down Ichigo. This moment allowed her to unleash her potential and go all out against the Sternritter, providing one of her coolest anime moments.

The fans loved every moment of the episode as they decided to sing praises on social media for how she dealt with the danger that was present right in front of her.

Otakus lauds Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War for Yoruichi’s epic moment

Bleach: TYBW Part 3, Episode 39 showcased the epic moment that took the Otaku community by surprise, where she jumped into action after finding Ichigo, Orihime, and Chad being immobile by Askin’s abilities. The situation seemed grim; she turned the tide of the battle, where she quickly took charge of the moment, where she at first took a few punches before she stopped holding herself back and used her Shunko.

The character decided to display her full strength, where she used Raijin Senkei, which was so strong that it burned away her clothes, and equipped perfectly with Studio Pierrot’s animation, the moment became even bigger. To the point where fans uploaded a post on Reddit and showered her with compliments.
