For some diners, their tushies are important so naturally they deserve to have a luxurious place to land.
Three Toronto restaurants have been recognized for their magnificent facilities, joining an illustrious group of establishments that were named earlier this year.
The new inductees are Mott 32, Blue Bovine and Daphne, all touted for their lighting, amenities, comfort and more.
A panel of judges including Lynda Reeves and Erin Hershberg, known for their expertise in interior design, fashion and food, ranked restaurants using the distinguished Fleur system (inspired by the bathroom tissue brand Cashmere UltraLuxe’s unique embossing pattern).
Bathrooms scoring 70 and higher secure the prestige of being awarded 1, 2 or 3 Fleurs, the “Fleur distinction,” and a listing in the official guide, according to the press release.
Mott 32, located at 190 University Ave., is “one of the most awarded Chinese restaurant brands in the world,” according to its website, so the latest accolades should come as no surprise.

It earned three fleurs out of three, making for an “outstanding and gasp-worthy” experience that patrons should consider “stopping at the bathroom first” before enjoying the fine dining.
“Entering such a dynamic culinary scene, we looked to bring a certain level of excellence throughout the entire experience at Mott 32,” the restaurant’s general manager Romano Castillo said in a statement.

“From the moment you walk in, to the moment you exit, the look and feel of a place should leave a lasting impression. We are thrilled that Cashmere has recognized this and created a guide to showcase restaurants beyond its food and couldn’t be more honoured to be included as the newest inductees.”
Blue Bovine, a steak and sushi house (and architecture and design lover’s dream) at 65 Front St. W., was awarded two fleurs, making it the No. 2 spot to do your number ones and twos, and is described as “beyond expectations,” so much so that the bathroom is “worth a photo opp.”

“This restroom transcends mere functionality, becoming an essential extension of the guest experience that embodies the restaurant’s brand and meticulous attention to detail,” said Nadia Di Donato, vice president and creative director of Liberty Entertainment Group and Blue Bovine.
“The ultra-modern design, featuring private stalls and a unisex trough-style wash area, offers a contemporary twist on the rustic ambiance of a classic steakhouse washroom,” she continued.
“High-end materials, such as natural stone, floor-to-ceiling bronze mirrors, and sultry mood lighting, transform the space into an experience all its own, leaving a lasting impression.”
Meanwhile, modern American restaurant Daphne at 67 Richmond St. W. was flushed to feature one fleur, making the luxurious experience “worth a look.”
The Toronto Cashmere UltraLuxe Bathroom Guide is just the first city to be announced with more cities to be released in 2025, as well as giving other restaurants in the city a chance to make the cut.
