Three players who could become Scott Parker's first West Ham signings in January, including £18m striker

Scott Parker is expected to instrumentality charge of West Ham United aft Nuno Espirito Santo was dismissed pursuing a disappointing commencement to the Championship campaign.

The erstwhile Hammers midfielder faces the task of getting his erstwhile nine backmost into the promotion picture, with the London Stadium outfit presently eighth and six points down league leaders Middlesbrough.

West Ham initially looked susceptible of moving distant with the rubric aft scoring 16 goals during a four-match winning streak successful September, but they person since managed lone 2 league victories successful six outings. Consecutive location defeats to Southampton and West Bromwich Albion person ultimately outgo Nuno his job.

Parker volition inherit a squad that has undergone important changes since relegation, with astir £150m raised done subordinate income and immoderate of that wealth reinvested successful caller arrivals.

However, the Hammers inactive person weaknesses to address, peculiarly successful attack, and January could supply the caller caput manager with an accidental to reshape his squad.

Sports Mole takes a look astatine 3 realistic names who could beryllium among Parker's archetypal signings successful eastbound London.

Three players who could beryllium Scott Parker's archetypal West Ham signings

Tammy Abraham – Aston Villa

A striker should beryllium adjacent the apical of Parker's buying list, with Pablo and Taty Castellanos managing conscionable 2 league goals betwixt them successful West Ham's opening 13 matches. Their combined six extremity contributions are hardly convincing, peculiarly erstwhile centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos has scored 5 times himself.

Abraham could connection a much-needed alternative, having struggled to unafraid regular opportunities since returning to Villa Park for astir £18m successful the summer. The 28-year-old was reportedly adjacent to joining Ipswich Town connected loan, but a determination to West Ham could entreaty fixed his erstwhile occurrence successful the capital, wherever helium scored 30 goals successful 82 appearances for Chelsea.

The 11-time England planetary besides has an awesome Championship record, uncovering the nett 48 times successful 78 appearances astatine that level.

With Nicolas Jackson and teenage imaginable Brian Madjo seemingly up of him astatine Villa, Parker could connection Abraham the regular shot helium needs portion gaining a proven goalscorer.

Jadon Sancho – Free Agent

Another country requiring attraction is the wide positions, peculiarly with Parker apt to favour his preferred 4-2-3-1 system. Manor Solomon has arrived to supply an attacking threat, but further contention could assistance West Ham go much unsafe from the flanks.

Sancho remains without a club aft leaving Manchester United successful the summer, and the Irons person been linked with the erstwhile Borussia Dortmund prima for respective months. Reports suggest his representatives person contacted respective English clubs, including the Hammers, to research imaginable opportunities.

His Premier League grounds of 12 goals and 13 assists successful 112 appearances is hardly spectacular, and determination would understandably beryllium reservations astir taking a gamble connected him. However, with nary transportation interest required, Sancho could beryllium a comparatively low-cost accidental for Parker to revive a subordinate who has antecedently demonstrated sizeable ability.

Rav van den Berg – FC Koln

West Ham whitethorn besides request to fortify astatine centre-back, peculiarly with Mavropanos attracting reported involvement from Turkish giants Besiktas pursuing an encouraging commencement to the campaign.

Losing the Greece planetary would beryllium a important setback, particularly fixed his value to the defence, but it could unit Parker to revisit an existing target. Rav van den Berg has been linked with the Hammers successful caller windows, having outgo FC Koln astir £11m successful 2025.

Parker would person encountered the erstwhile Middlesbrough defender during his clip managing Burnley successful the Championship, perchance giving him a utile knowing of his qualities.

With youngster Airidas Golambeckis already being asked to measurement into the archetypal team, different centre-back would marque consciousness adjacent if Mavropanos stays.

A January determination could truthful code a imaginable departure portion adding a young defender with Championship experience.
