Eiichiro Oda is one of the best storytellers to ever grace the anime and manga industry. He began One Piece’s serialization in 1997, and it was adapted into an anime in 1999. For the past 25 years, it has set up an empire and has been on the top with barely any competition from other anime franchises. Compared to One Piece, Demon Slayer is fairly new. While Oda inspired countless mangaka, he was full of praise for Koyoharu Gotouge’s masterpiece.

During Jump Festa 2021, Oda said, “Demon Slayer was simply amazing in Jump. It saved the feelings of so many people and entertained them. It’s amazing. That’s what manga should be like. I was really moved!” The Demon Slayer fans were quite moved by the iconic mangaka’s words. It was a surprise for them since Demon Slayer had just ended when Jump Festa 2021 happened. During that time, the Wano arc was going on in One Piece.

Demon Slayer manga sold over 150 million copies, and it proves how popular it is overseas. Moreover, the anime and manga industry going mainstream significantly increased its exposure. Demon Slayer has won multiple awards after it was adapted into an anime, but Eiichiro Oda’s compliment is the one that Koyoharu Gotouge holds quite dearly.

Demon Slayer season 4 became a massive hit due to the visual representation. Ufotable exceeded themselves and created one of the best seasons, and on top of that the Hashira Training arc was also exciting.

However, fans will be bracing for impact with the Infinity Castle arc coming next. Unfortunately, the final arc won’t return as a season, instead it will be adapted into a trilogy of movies. Ufotable chose this method since it is cost-efficient and brings in more profit.

The release dates are yet to be released, but fans are speculating the first movie to be released in 2025. After getting compliments from Eiichiro Oda for the manga, Demon Slayer will look to recreate the same scenario in the anime.

The Infinity Castle arc will be a bloodbath, with every individual unlocking their true potential and bodies lining up one after another. Considering Ufotable’s track record, they will be sure to leave a lasting impression.

Demon Slayer is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
