the beginning after the end

SUMMARY

  • The Beginning After the End is making history as the first US-born web novel to receive a TV anime adaptation from a Japanese studio!
  • Also, in a recent interview, the American author of this series even shared some of his insights on the adaptation and his involvement into its production.
  • Quite unsurprisingly though, TurtleMe says that he has no control over the series' soundtracks, and is just optimistic about the outcome.

Behold, the 2025 anime year is finally bringing us the most anticipated isekai of this decade! In case you enjoyed shows like Mushoku Tensei and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, then this might be just for you.

This particular series takes the idea of being reincarnated into another world to a whole new level. The story presents a narrative giving a past ruler one last chance to redeem his sins and restart a new life. Now with the present context of an anime adaptation one cannot wait to see how the production is going to shape up its visuals and soundtracks for a much-awaited April release!

The wait is almost over for The Beginning After the End anime! While fans continue to count the days, Anime Trending recently sat with the original series author, TurtleMe, to give us some interesting insights on its production. Out of the many exciting bits of information, one that struck out the most was when he enthusiastically mentioned his non-participation in the series’ soundtracks!

There have been some early discussions but choosing the soundtrack is not something the studio has the ability to give me.

Music is always one of the most essential elements in setting the tone for any anime, and so during the interview, TurtleMe was eventually asked about the soundtrack and theme songs for the series. However, he frankly replied that the studio has not shared such information with him yet, and for good reasons.

This is actually a pretty standard production process in the anime industry, as the studio always has a team of composers and music directors who work hard to create a soundtrack that will complement the tone and atmosphere of any said series. And there always remains little to no involvement of the authors here.

I’m not sure what will come out of their decision, but I’m hopeful that the director and the staff involved will deliver what they think is best!

Though he doesn’t have control over the OSTs, TurtleMe has faith in what will come out from the studio. He believes that the director and their staff know exactly what to do so that the series can have a successful launch in April. Fans are excitedly waiting for the final release date to come in order to experience PEAK as they say.

Only a fantastic collection of OSTs would do justice to the series

Despite the web novel’s already existing popularity, The Beginning After the End is still an isekai series at its core. The genre has become so saturated that it has become quite challenging for new series from this genre to stand out in the market. The competition has become so flooded with similar shows that any differentiating factor, like Visuals and Soundtracks, has become a prerequisite for success.

The Begining After the End’s anime adaptation needs to be such an exceptional isekai experience, even surpassing what Mushoku Tensei did, in order to attract a larger audience rather than just a stereotypical one. If it goes out as any other generic series, no one will give it a chance to watch.

So the only way for it to succeed the studio must create a cinematic experience that will reciprocate properly with the series’s compelling storyline. It has to live up to the hype by combining stunning visuals with multiple soundtracks, and a great opening and ending sequence. If these are executed well, the show will surely surpass expectations.

The Beginning After the End manga is legally available to read on Tapas and WEBTOON.
