10 Kraven the Hunter

Kraven the Hunter should have been fun, but the gory, tedious, and laughable final product will (hopefully) hammer the final nail in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) for good. The main issue with the film is that it juggles too many perspectives, and the first 45 minutes drag under the weight of exposition, unfolding as slowly as thawing permafrost.

9 Unfrosted

Tyler Perry continues delivering his gluttonous, self-indulgent theatrics. Perry’s script is often hysterically bad and continues to top itself repeatedly (in the worst possible way). Prime Video’s Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black is a painfully uneven feature that is almost a parody of itself (or the genre of Perry’s films).

7 Borderlands

Borderlands is a generic rip-off of Guardians of the Galaxy. Writer and director Eli Roth didn’t merely pay homage to the Marvel franchise; he blatantly stole from it. The film is heavily drenched in CGI, exposition, and poor dialogue. Another Lionsgate disaster, Borderlands relies heavily on repetitive scenes and narrowly linear storytelling, making the experience feel flat and uninspired.

6 Canary Black

Spy films are an oversaturated genre in which audiences expect something more thoughtful and intelligent. The action needs to be extraordinary, and the plot points must be on point. Canary Black demonstrates how cinema is shifting from an art form to a content-streaming mill. The plot is a recycled cliché. Kate Beckinsale should recognize that her fans should demand more of our time.

5 Killer Heat

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, and Richard Madden star in the new Prime Video film Killer Heat, which is too thinly veiled for anyone looking to lose themselves in a gumshoe romance mystery. This weak writing and lack of depth undoes Philippe Lacôte’s film entirely from the start. Killer Heat is utterly predictable and laughable from beginning to end.

Chris Pine has crafted one of the year’s very worst films. You cannot imagine a worse debut from a filmmaker. Poolman obfuscates that the film is too lazy to be narratively driven and shallow to be a character study.

3 Uglies

Remember when director McG made good movies? Neither do we. His latest, Uglies, won’t change anyone’s mind anytime soon. Netflix’s latest lackluster Joey King vehicle is grossly digitally enhanced and inefficacious, with themes so wide of the mark that the film practically becomes conceited.

2 Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver
