A 13-year-old boy paid a visit to a hospital after climbing out of a log flume and sliding down a 15-metre plunge on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland in California.

A Disney spokesperson told Fox News the boy got out of the ride vehicle before the final drop of the attraction on Sunday. A Disneyland cast member immediately stopped the ride and the teen was taken to hospital for evaluation and later released.
The ride remained closed for the remainder of the day. The attraction was inspected by officials with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, who approved for the ride to open on Monday, PEOPLE reported.
Incident captured on video
News outlet TMZ obtained video captured by a Disneyland park guest that shows the moment the youth climbed out of the flume before it plunged down the water track.
In the 30-second video, the boy climbs out of the vehicle and appears to try to cling to the side of the mountain set before falling down the waterfall track behind the log flume. It looks like the boy fell down the waterfall headfirst.

Multiple park guests who claimed to have seen the fall shared their stories on Reddit.
One Reddit witness described the boy as sliding down a steep drop before paramedics arrived. Another Reddit user who claimed they were riding the attraction at the time said several passengers saw the boy fall moments before the ride came to a stop.
“He attempted to exit the ride vehicle at the top of the final drop,” another user wrote, per Fox News. “The ride stop mechanism failed to engage or was already past the threshold for the vehicle to enter free fall.”
Another commenter said Disneyland security and medical personnel quickly responded to the scene.
“Luck was on his side,” another Redditor wrote.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, based on Disney’s animated film “The Princess and the Frog,” opened in November 2024 at Disneyland, replacing the classic Splash Mountain. The same ride opened a few months earlier at Walt Disney World in Florida.
