In 2013, during a meet-and-greet before a concert, Taylor Swift was meeting with fans and employees of KYGO radio. Here, she was clicking a picture with David Mueller and his then-girlfriend, Shannon Melcher, who were both employees of the station.

During this, Swift claimed that Mueller reached under her skirt and grabbed her rear (via BBC). After they left the room, the incident was reported, and he was fired from his job. This was followed up by his suing the singer for defamation in a $3 million lawsuit, claiming that he never did such a thing, even though there are pictures of the same that evidently lean towards Swift’s narrative of the story.

Swift later filed a countersuit for battery and assault for $1. The singer won her case and has been quite public about the entire situation with her fans, specifically addressing it in her documentary, Miss Americana. In the 2020 classic, she talked about how the entire experience affected her and even addressed it during one of her shows during the Reputation Stadium Tour.

One can imagine that Taylor Swift’s battery and assault case was not an easy experience for her, having had one of her most vulnerable moments out for the entire world to see. Unfortunately, Blake Lively is also reportedly experiencing a similar situation in her life, having her credibility and reputation being put in the mud according to the alleged lawsuit.

There is no denying that there are still many skeptics who wonder about whose side they should be on. However, the amount of details mentioned in the lawsuit and the s*xual harassment allegations (via BBC) are more than enough to sway the opinions of the ton.

Considering Lively and Swift’s friendship, one can imagine that she is playing a very big role in the lawsuit, be it in front of the world, something audiences are yet to see, or behind closed doors. Considering the fact that three of Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children are named in Swift’s songs, it is safe to assume that she would not be leaving their side during such a difficult time.
