Sydney Sweeney's unexpected reply to Oregon Ducks mascot's bold sign sparks fan speculation

Sydney Sweeney's flirting with the Oregon Ducks' mascot was perhaps not on everyone's 2024 bingo list but the popular actress gave him the delight of his life by taking to social media to respond to his request.

It all started when the mascot, named Puddles, held up a sign and sent a message to the Euphoria star reading, "Sydney Sweeney, call me back," at the clash with the NCAA college football clash pregame show on October 12.

As it turns out, it caught the attention of the 27-year-old actress who chose to lower his expectations gently as the betrothed Anyone But You star responded via Instagram by posting, "Sorry. Changed my number, haha."

It's not the first time someone has called to the star to hit them up and she usually just shrugs them off and takes things in her stride, rarely responding, which means it's an honor in itself that the Ducks' representative got a "text" back.

Nonetheless, fans loved the interaction and took to social media to respond to the jokes between mascot and the Immaculate star, known for being Hollywood's latest sex icon and gemstone.

One user wrote on X.com, formerly Twitter, "No Ducks given lol."

A second added, "Shooters shoot."

Whilst a third continued, "W attempt though."

And finally a fourth concluded, "You can't teach that type of heart these days."

Who do the Ducks play in Week 1?

There's no rest time for the Ducks as they're straight into another tough clash in the 2024/25 NCAA college football season with a clash against the highly-rated Ohio State Buckeyes on October 12, with kick-off expected from 19:30 ET/16:30 PT.

The Buckeyes and Ducks currently have an identical record of 2-0 in the Big Ten Conference and 5-0 overall, and a victory could see either of them move level with the Indiana Hoosiers at the top of the standings.

The Ducks have beaten Idaho, Boise State, Oregon State, UCLA and Michigan State to go undefeated in the opening exchanges of the season.
