A 51-year-old Gatineau police officer is to appear in court Monday after he was arrested Thursday for breach of court conditions.

Stéphane Lizotte was arrested by MRC-des-Collines Public Security officers. He was off-duty at the time of the incident, Gatineau police said in a release Saturday.

Specifics of the charge were not released.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 20 for a “pro forma bail hearing.”

Lizotte has been suspended with pay following charges brought when he was arrested July 5 on charges of armed assault or causing bodily harm in an off-duty incident.

Gatineau police have said he will not return to duty while legal proceedings are ongoing.
