A suspect has been charged with manslaughter in the 2022 assault and death of a taxi driver in Vancouver.
Jordan Conway is facing one count of manslaughter and is set to appear in court on Sept. 24.
On Aug. 14, 2022, Aden Hersi, 69, pulled over his cab and picked up a passenger near Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station.
According to police at the time, the suspect allegedly assaulted the driver while inside the cab and then left him with life-altering injuries. The suspect then fled.
In October 2022, police released surveillance footage of the suspect and asked the public to help identify the passenger.
On Nov. 22 that year, Hersi died due to his injuries.
Following a two-year investigation, Vancouver police said Conway was arrested on Sept. 6. He has since been released from custody but is expected back in court later this month.
