The seven-second clip shows dozens of players rushing into a pile as coaches and staff attempt to intervene. Because the video begins after the initial confrontation, it offers no indication of what started the fight. However, despite a viral X post claiming the altercation erupted on the first day of the Steelers’ 2026 training camp, the footage appears to be from a brawl that occurred in July 2024.

The footage, which is now making its way across Instagram, TikTok, and X, shows players from both sides of the ball converging near the end zone as the confrontation quickly expands.

Several athletes appear to push their way into the pile while others stand nearby watching the chaos unfold. A member of the Steelers’ staff can be seen approaching the players as the situation escalates.

NFL Fans Mock The Steelers Over The Fight

Some fans also spotted players in the footage who are no longer on Pittsburgh’s roster. “Yeah because George Pickens & NaJee Harris are still on the Steelers,” one viewer sarcastically observed.

Defensive back Beanie Bishop was also involved in the contact before offensive lineman Mason McCormick shoved Roberts. Players from both sides then rushed into the confrontation, creating the enormous pile captured in the viral footage.

The video traces back to a July 31, 2024, training camp practice. The confrontation reportedly erupted after linebacker Elandon Roberts made heavy contact with quarterback Justin Fields during a read-option play.

It remains unclear why the footage has resurfaced, but the viral clip is once again igniting conversation online.

Roman Wilson Enters A Crucial Season In Pittsburgh

Beyond the unexpected resurfaced fight, one of the biggest storylines surrounding Steelers training camp is Roman Wilson’s uncertain future with the team. The wide receiver lost much of his rookie season to injuries before struggling to produce the impact Pittsburgh hoped to see during his second year. Aaron Rodgers also arrived at training camp with a definitive statement about his future. The veteran quarterback reaffirmed that the 2026 season will be his last in the NFL, even as Metcalf publicly wondered whether a successful year might persuade him to reconsider.

“I thought last year might be it,” Rodgers said after the Steelers’ conditioning test, per ESPN. “And then Mike [McCarthy] got hired, and I talked to the wife and she said, ‘You can do one more year.’ I said, ‘Well, we’ll see if it works out.’ And then it kind of all came together.”

Metcalf remained unwilling to completely rule out another season for the four-time MVP. “I mean, people just say things at the beginning of the year, not knowing how a year could go,” he said. “He may not even get hit or touched this year and may say, ‘Hey, let’s go out there and do another one.’ So, I mean, it just puts a weight off his back. He’s just out there playing free, enjoying possibly his last year with his teammates, with a couple of close friends that he’s made over the past two years.”

The receiver added, “I think it’s just a lot of weight off his shoulders right now. He’s just going out there playing free,” but Rodgers immediately dismissed that possibility. “No,” he said while shaking his head. “Zero debate. Zero.”

McCarthy previously coached Rodgers for 13 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, beginning during the quarterback’s second year in the league. That history has made their reunion especially meaningful as Rodgers prepares to conclude his 22-season NFL career.

“Obviously known him since the beginning,” McCarthy said. “When you get to that point in life and you get into the fourth quarter of a career, you do reflect. … I think the biggest thing is where he’s at in life.
