The post quickly went viral on social media, racking up more than a 1.5 million views in less than a day and garnering more than a thousand replies, with reactions ranging from shock to disgust to some supportive messages.
Kendra Middleton, a fellow sports reporter, replied, “Girl I love you,” with a crying-laughing emoji.
Many others posted memes of shocked reactions, including that of Spurs star Dylan Harper after teammate Victor Wembanyama’s elbow on Sunday night – an instant classic.

But most replies were of the shocked or disgusted variety.
“That is the most vile thing I have read this weekend,” one user wrote. “That is a series of words that should never be put together in that order. Ever.”
“This is the snack of a serial killer,” another replied.
“I’m sorry, a mustard icee??? Are you okay?” a third user wrote.

Another user felt that this might’ve been something better kept private.
“As a fellow mustard lover don’t hate this but definitely something to keep behind closed doors,” they wrote.
Many users also asked if this incredibly bizarre snack is a pregnancy craving – though Dua hasn’t commented on that aspect of her life.
“This is a weird way to announce a pregnancy,” one user joked.
Has Anna Dua posted anything else about the snack?
A few hours after the initial post, Dua addressed the matter on social media.
“If you aren’t cool enough for mustard slushies just say sooooo,” she wrote.

X user Next-Gen Leap replied: “When you are going to get a bite to eat with Anna Dua and she’s picking the food,” along with a meme of comedian Jordan Peele sweating profusely.
Who is Anna Dua?
Dua has worked at Sportsnet as a host and reporter since October 2024, covering the NHL. She previously worked for the league at NHL.com and with NBC Sports.
The 27-year-old was born in Richmond Hill, but according to her X profile, considers herself “sometimes American, sometimes Canadian.”
She also describes herself as a “calzone enthusiast” but it’s unclear if she uses mustard as a topping or filling.
