Silas Katompa Mvumpa will reportedly also play for 1.FSV Mainz 05 next season, as first covered by the Allgemeine Zeitung.

According to Sky Germany, the 27-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract until 2027 on Tuesday afternoon, 16 June.

Mainz also has an option to extend that contract by a further year with the winger who only joined the club in the winter.

It must be noted that the attacking player is currently still injured following an unfortunate broken tibia and fibula.

The pay-Tav already reported at the end of April that the Rhineland-Palatinate club were keen to extend the 27-year-old's contract.

Despite his game time being limited through injuries, Silas featured 8 times for Mainz in the Bundesliga, registering one goal.
