Shazam Star Zachary Levi’s MCU Character May Be in Avengers: Doomsday (Report)

Avengers: Doomsday reports, and rumors are going wild day by day, and fans are not complaining for sure. One such report is now making news. A new industry report from The Cosmic Circus suggests that Avengers: Doomsday could feature the return of several legacy Asgardians to answer Thor’s call to arms. In a Q&A session, the host Alex Perez answered if the famous Doomsday “chair reveal” left any members, he said:

There’s a couple that still haven’t been mentioned. A lot of them have already been revealed by scoopers and leaks, so they’re out there already. But if I had to give you a couple of names that I haven’t seen out there, there’s a couple of Asgardians that are planning to answer Thor’s call to arms. Some of which we haven’t seen since Thor: Ragnarok, and are very, very close with Thor. And I just think that’s really neat.

Perez’s answer hinted towards “The Warriors Three.” Among the rumored returns of the Warriors Three, the spotlight is back on Fandral the Dashing, a character closely tied to Shazam! star Zachary Levi.

Who Is Fandral of The Warriors Three? Origin, MCU Death Explained

Introduced in Marvel Comics in 1965 (Journey into Mystery #119), Fandral the Dashing was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby as a dashing, swashbuckling Asgardian warrior inspired by Errol Flynn (Via Comic Vine). Alongside Volstagg and Hogun, Fandral formed the Warriors Three, a loyal trio of fierce combatants and devoted friends who fought alongside Thor in defense of Asgard across centuries.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fandral debuted in 2011’s Thor, portrayed by Josh Dallas. However, Levi was originally set to play the role, but due to clashing dates, the role went to Dallas. Zachary Levi took over the role for 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. Levi played the charismatic swordmaster again briefly in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.

Fandral met a sudden and tragic end in Thor: Ragnarok. When Hela, the Goddess of Death, invaded Asgard through the Bifrost, Fandral and Volstagg stood guard to protect their realm. Unprepared for Hela’s overwhelming dark magic and necroswords, Fandral was impaled almost instantly upon her arrival, marking the swift demise of Thor’s legendary allies.

Despite his death in Phase 3, the Multiverse Saga opens the door for alternate variants, resurrected allies, or temporal echoes to rejoin Thor (Chris Hemsworth) during the upcoming clash against Doctor Doom.
