The singer’s first of five shows at Rogers Stadium on Saturday night was rescheduled to May 31 by concert promoter Live Nation “due to inclement weather.”
The announcement was made about seven hours before Mars’ scheduled show time of 8:45 p.m.
“The safety of our guests, artists, crew and staff remains our top priority,” Live Nation Canada said in a statement.
“All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date. More information will be communicated directly to ticket holders through Ticketmaster and available on the Rogers Stadium app.”
Mars himself said he was looking forward to making up Saturday’s cancellation for his fans.
“I never want this but I need everyone to be safe in order to have a good time,” he wrote on his X account. “I’ll make it up to you Toronto on the 31st. I promise! love, Rice Man.”

Special weather statement for Toronto
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Toronto early Saturday saying heavy ran was expected, estimating 30 to 50 millimetres was possible.
“A low pressure system is bringing heavy rain to parts of southern Ontario north of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario,” said Environment Canada.
“Rain is expected to change to drizzle from west to east, beginning early this evening over extreme southwestern Ontario and Sunday morning over areas near Eastern Lake Ontario.
So far Mars’ other scheduled Rogers Stadium shows are Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and next Saturday.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter from Honolulu was expected to play hits like 24K Magic, Marry You, Die With a Smile (his hit with Lady Gaga), Locked Out Of Heaven, Just The Way You Are, and Uptown Funk at his shows.
Set lists also show a Silk Sonic portion where Mars plays hits from that group – formed with Anderson .Paak – like Leave The Door Open.
Anderson .Paak is one of the openers on Mars’ current tour.
Saturday night was to mark the opening of Rogers Stadium’s second summer season, which will see 20 shows in all, up from 14 in its inaugural year in 2025.
