A 52-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed overnight Saturday to Sunday in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.
Police responded to a 911 call at about 12:50 a.m. regarding a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Goyer St. near the intersection with Darlington Ave., said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture.
According to initial witness accounts, the driver was travelling east on Goyer St. when he struck the male pedestrian, who was crossing the street.
“The driver reportedly did not stop and fled the scene,” Couture said.
The driver has not been apprehended.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Urgences-santé, Couture said.
Collision investigators will examine the crime scene, interview witnesses and check whether surveillance cameras may have captured the incident, Couture said.
