A 51-year-old man is dead after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Monday in North York.

Toronto Police said they responded to a report of a personal injury collision on Monday just after 6 a.m. in the Steeles Ave. W.-Klondike Dr. area.
A male pedestrian was crossing Steeles from the south side to the north side, according to police, at the same time when a vehicle being driven by a 51-year-old woman was travelling eastbound on Steeles.

Police said the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was transported to a trauma centre and later pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene.
